Two strokes usually tend to have only two sets of rings, the lower set in a 4 stroke is an oil control ring.
@ronalddaub17105 жыл бұрын
Just as well the older two strokes had three ring Pistons of course they're all compression rings it just lasts longer because the Piston will not slap as much. There is a racing piston with a dykes one ring that doesn't last very long but the ring expands with RPM and compression but it doesn't last very long.. apples and oranges on the 4-stroke suggestion we all know about the oil ring on a 4-stroke has nothing to do with the two stroke 3 ring piston apples and oranges

Sorry for you...... I bought ONE 66cc gasket engine kit. This I use as patterns for thew gaskets that I make. So, now I make all my gaskets. Head Gaskets I make from .012 thick aluminum sheet and .011 copper sheet. exhaust and carb gaskets I used just regular Automotive Exhaust Manifold Gasket material. 8x11 sheet about $10, I can make 20-25 out of that sheet. One advantage of making your own gaskets is that you can port match Intake and exhaust ports for a smoother flow.

Doesn't look that great tbh. If it's the exact same price as a normal stock kit, then maybe it's worth it. But that head being oriented the wrong way (and the fact that that's unfixable since it's a one piece head/jug), needing to have a super long allen wrench, and needing to buy certain custom parts like the gaskets. I see a lot of these blowing up due to overheating. One of the coolest upgrades are custom heads, which you can't do with this at all. Skip.

Oh you will also need to make the main jet larger by total area the jet you are using times the pressure boost as atmospheres this not easy to do but you can read about the processes for doing this if you think that what I had written was long then you will need to take time to study jetting and engine for the first time. Tip: The engine will surge like it is missing that is the symptoms of too low of fuel in the cylinder which means that you will and must do fuel enrichment processes. It may blog-out just before you start to scream again you need to do fuel enrichment processes. First, check the sparkplug(s) this should be almost brownish in color (colour) but with these symptoms, the sparkplug(s) will be starch white this is the time to study fuel enrichment processes. It will be really worth it time. If the engine just starts to go then lags back you will enrich the fuel mix SECOND TIP: Get the jet flow area and multiply it by 1.5 this will equal the new first step now find the new diameter go get a drill of that diameter and hand drill the hole do not use a power drill ever while doing these drilling process use tape that sticks very well wrap it around the back end of the bit use your own fingers to power the drill bit through the jet for however many cylinders that there are then install and test. you will be doing more drilling on these jets very shortly again just keep making them larger step by step get more drills sizes. SEE the fact that you have done the other work correctly is why the carburetor just can not supply a rich enough fuel mixture the ait is passing through the carb so fast that it just can not supply the fuel for it. A word to be noticed is if you can not get it to enrichen the mixture enough after drilling out the jets four or five times through the process then you will need to get a bigger carb for each inlet port of this engine. But this mostly because the engine maker started with almost too small of a carbonator to start with although this rare but it does happen. Now if you first started out and just quits as you start to rev your engine or it will only ideal means you will need to start with two times the jet area First thing is to buy new jets for your engine before starting the expansion chamber build(s) then use these to get the right sized twist drill bits as a set of them and get some very sticky tape for adding a finger useable surface for your fingers. Now once you have done the whole process and have gotten the system to run max out you will be very glad you did it. Provide it just scream so much that you can't get used to it then you detune the system by changing the reflector-cone t a smaller angle which also makes a wider powerband at the same time if used a 22.5-degree angle then start by going to 15-degree angle you can go right on down to 3.75 degrees as a minimum angle for the reflector-cone.
@javymcdeez39585 жыл бұрын
better buy about 3 cylinders along with your new engine cause the chrome plating will only last 500/1000 miles just like they did on the original CG cylinders. this new BT100 is just a sales gimmick to lure in the idiots. 3 compression rings will cause extra friction/heat what a joke.

@kennynoble12235 жыл бұрын
More friction in theory, but look at the ports. More rings but less cylinder wall surface. I'd say it's exactly how it should be. Plus, more rings make for a better-balanced piston. Keep it well lubed, use good fuel, oil, and it should last at least 3 months like the other Chinese-style 2-cycle bicycle engine kits on the market before things start crapping out. No wonder they say these things are for racing. If you're looking for long term reliability, upgrade to a Honda engine and Kevlar belt transmission. I tend to be cheap and lazy about it and get a friction drive kit with a Honda engine, and then I put a Kevlar tire on the wheel I drive. Last time I had 1 it was with a 25cc 4-cycle engine, .930" roller, 26" tire and while it didn't get me past 25MPH at top speed or over 16MPH up any hill, I've never had a similar sized 2-cycle engine that beat it right out of the box, or any size 2-cycle kit beat it over the long haul. Too bad some asshole ripped me off, and I'm not getting that bike/engine kit back. I wouldn't want it anyway. He probably trashed that, too. Anyway, if you want fast acceleration and higher potential top speed for short runs, go 2-cycle and chain drive with manual clutch. If you want slow acceleration but relatively high and consistent top speed for long trips, go with mini-4 stroke and either belt drive or friction drive with auto clutch. For comparison, I figure the 25cc friction drive kit I used could match pace with a 48cc Chinese-style 2-cycle engine kit I used with a 44T rear sprocket several years ago, if only for about 10 miles before something would need to be tightened or adjusted on the 2-cycle kit. The 1.5L tank on the 2 cycle kit or the 16oz tank on the mini 4-cycle kit both got about the same range when hooked up to their corresponding engine kits. If I read good things about the BT-100, I might get 1 if any are still in stock in a few years. 1st I'm upgrading to a 35cc mini 4-cycle engine kit with the same roller size next year, then getting a better bicycle and tires for it the year after that if I still can. I don't expect to win any races against the 100cc 2 stroke engine-powered bikes any more than a 25cc engine powered bike could beat a 66cc engine powered bike in a fair race, but when I can make 100 mile trips in 1 day, once a week, with no signs of quitting for nearly half a year, I know I have some reliable transportation. I can still race the rich-ass neon spandex crew with their short shorts, fancy pants road racing bikes, Oakley sunglasses and Go-Pros if I want to lol... To each his/her own.

Was this motor worth it or is the dy100 better after you used it a bit?

I'm trying to figure out the same thing. I really like how you can change the angle of the exhaust on this motor. But just the fact that bikeberry is the only one i see selling it makes me wonder.

Friend of mine was getting 5~6bhp from 32cc weed wacker motors 15 or so years ago.Could have gotten more but RC boats need some low speed torque. He's into RC helicopters now (was 'Toxic Marine' ) It's much much easier to port a larger diameter cylinder but reliability will suffer. Could and probably should have head machined off block then get a two piece watercooled head (yopu can change combustion chambers) Head is actually quite easy to make but very time consuming for initial design and not cheap until you can CNC 10,000 of them

Only thing I like is the 50mm piston...
@whalesong9994 жыл бұрын
Technology seems very close to cheaper chain saws I serviced while working for Sears. Those bores look to be unplated bare aluminum castings, typical also of some inexpensive weed whacker engines. Durability is the question with that - 2 stroke motorcycles I worked on during my career all had iron or steel liners or were plated with Nikasil or chromium. Three rings is highly unusual, last I saw was on high quality German two strokes of the late '50s and early '60s.

If you wanna make it faster straight pipe it. You have to cut off the exhaust and just leave the first part of the exhaust that is connected to the head of the motor. Trust me I did it and it gives it way more power and it will not break I swear I had it like that for like 3 months.

Not worth the money, Id never own a motor without a removeable head. They didnt even face the fins the right way. Bad deal, pain in the ass to decarbonize. Cant change compression ratio. Hey Jl zeda, try again!
