Bomber appears on Motörhead’s album ‘Bomber’. Originally released on Bronze Records on 27th October 1979, produced by Jimmy Miller. The line up on this album was Lemmy, Fast Eddie Clarke and Philthy Animal Taylor.
Lyrics
Oh
Aah
Ain't a hope in hell
Nothing is gonna bring us down
The way we fly
Five miles off the ground
Because we shoot to kill
And you know we always will
It's a bomber, it's a bomber
Scream a thousand miles
Hear the black death rising moan
Firestorm coming closer
Napalm to the bone
Because you know we do it right
A mission every night
It's a bomber, it's a bomber
No night fighter
Gonna stop us getting through
The sirens make you shiver
You bet my aim is true
Because you know we aim to please
Bring you to your knees
It's a bomber, it's a bomber, it's a bomber
Yeah

Been listening to Motorhead for 43 years, and still love it ! 😂 And only to Overkill, Bomber and Ace of Spades, with the only "real" power trio band to me. If you can find "White line fever", Lemmy's autobiography, get it man, please ! It's so real, so Rock'n'Roll, so fun... After that, you will appreciate Lemmy still more than you do now. A kind of Bible by a real Rock'n'Roll man. I will listen "Bomber" in a loop, even in my grave, I promise ! Cheers ! ( Jack Daniel's, of course)

My first favorite metal band was Metallica, in high school a couple of my friends were into them. Love the old school stuff. Then one day I heard Motorhead, wow! I was totally blown away. Both bands t awesome 😎. I've seen Metallica live but didn't get to see Motorhead. Every chance I get to jam on Motorhead or old-school Metai, I crank it up. Rock on 🤘!

@@bobmartin4021 I just watched a documentary on Motorhead, where it was said that during their heyday, some of their albums were hitting top ratings in charts, "No Sleep till Hammersmith" was even the #1 in the album charts. I don't think that they cared all that much about grammy awards, they already won prizes without going down as much as Metallica did after St. Anger. (In my opinion, that is, of course)

I saw them play the long gone Palladium for the Ace of Spades tour front row and the high level of energy made it feel & sound like a helicopter was landing on the stage. I’m 62 years old and I was at the same concert motorhead to me is so awesome every time I listen to them I get chills up and down my back and my blood curdles they will never be another band like that again. I saw them several times one that comes to my mind is when they played at the Caldarone theater in Hempstead Long Island. It was a small place, but they blew the doors open. They were so loud. Unfortunately the Caldarone is not there anymore either. also, when I was there, they were members of the Plasmatics behind me and a couple of friends we all enjoyed that show together that’s for sure.

My first concert was on the Bomber tour 1980 at Manchester Apollo Theatre. I was 14, the support act was Saxon. Motorhead had the bomber lighting rig and an insane PA system - I was deaf for a week.... Went back the following year for the Ace of Spades tour. Awesome.

Phil Taylor was a *god* on drums, it's challenging to stand still when listening to him play, so much groove and richness in such a fast and brutal beat - never heard anyone like him.

Overkill and Bomber are my favorite records. At the years between punk movement and NWOBHM, Motorhead's R' n' R was tremendously active and imaginative. Long live Lemmy!

Hi David, I'm 55 and I probably went to the same gigs as you at The Capitol. Motorhead, Judas Priest, UFO, Saxon, The Rolling Stones, The Jam, 10cc, Girl and Hawkwind, to name but a few of the bands that played that great venue. Great memories indeed.

Still the best hard rock band to ever come out of the UK, and this track sounds as good in 2021 as it did the day they 'recorded it. Eddie never gets the recognition he deserves and in my mind was the best guitarist they ever had! Phil was the perfect drummer for the band and the original line up is without doubt one of the greatest 3 piece rock bands of all time. God bless you Lemmy.
