Thanks for this really enjoyable two-parter. I remember visiting Füssen with my parents in the late 1970s. Neuschwanstein was extremely busy even then, but well worth it as you say for the excellent guided tours. We didn't venture onto the high level hiking trails, so it was fascinating to see the fantastic views you managed to see from your hikes. Landscape photography nirvana 🙂

Hey there, What did Martin have on his backpack strap? Was it a two way radio or a phone? Do you have them for remote hiking?

Hi it’s a GPS device and sat phone. It’s preloded with maps and tracks where we are. We do get into some remote places and it means you always know where you are as it’s obviously not a good idea to rely on phones and sometimes we struggle abroad to get the equivalent of an OS map. Hi I've not done a video clip on it so far , I carry Garmin 66i GPSMAP, primarily as a navigation back up as over the years we have found ourselves in the wilderness and it's helped us track where we are. The Sat Phone call option thankfully I have never had to use as we have managed to avoid the emergency that would proceed such a call. There are different subscription packages depending on usage and requirement with the device . I went for the Garmin simply because we have Garmin running watches and Vehicle Sat Nav and have always been satisfied with the brand.Thanks for watching and I hope that helps Helen and Martin
