Hi guys. We watched your Vlog on our TV, so couldn't leave a comment. We really love your channel and look forward to seeing your travels and reviews. Woolacombe and Ilfracombe look lovely; we've been to other areas in Devon but not there. It Is a beautiful county. I am sorry to read you have received negative comments about Fudge's travel arrangements, especially on Facebook. When we saw Fudge in the garage in his crate we thought it was a great solution for him, although in practice it wouldn't have worked for our dog because she gets separation anxiety. I hadn't thought of the potential downside, especially in relation to a back end crash. We spoke about it being similar to dogs travelling in the back of a van in crates, such as dog wardens and police dogs. We hadn't considered the build quality of a motorhome isn't the same. As a result the feedback you've received has been really helpful and I hope the majority of people are just trying to be helpful in highlighting other considerations. We also watch Bob & Jenny Earnshaw's channel, where they have Poppy in a crate that is secured in the van. I am not sure precisely how they do it, When we travel in our car we have our dog in a harness, but we also have a hammock because when we had to brake hard one time she slid off the seat, even though she is small. We have wondered how on earth we are going to safely secure her in a motorhome, without the hammock. We are also looking to get a Labrador, so it would be helpful to know how other owners with large pets safely secure their dogs and whether any have been in a situation where they've had to brake hard in terms of the impact on the dog. So may people travel with dogs that maybe the manufacturers should be asked to look into animal safety when travelling. Take care both of you.

Hi Karina and Jules. Just seen the vicious comments on Facebook. If Fudge was suffering from fumes you would have also smelt it in the motorhome. Just noticed the steering lock..... Any recommendations for van security very welcome. If we get one, I plan to have it on the drive with a couple of retractable bollards in front, and a car on the road in front of that, is there any other safety measures you think would be good.

A tracker is usually required by the insurance, we have the steering wheel lock as you can see. Pedal locks seem popular but it depends how far you want to go. Drive bollards are a good idea at home. 😊👍 Karina

Another great vid. I noticed that fully serviced pitches are normally only a couple of quid more. Have I got that wrong and is it not easier just to pay a little extra? Also, in your opinion, what are the nest pitches and why? again, in your opinion. just trying to get a good idea of what to get if and when we get a van (going to look at some next Thursday). Another quick question if I may, we are adamant this is what we want to do after years of deliberation, is it worth hiring before you buy? I don't believe for a minute it will put me off.
@HereWeTow3 жыл бұрын
Evening Iann..the pitch type question is a tough one as everyone is different. Personally I like hardstanding, whether it be gravel or a concrete base. If the weather is good grass makes a nice change but if you get rain it can be difficult in a Motorhome if the ground gets soft or slippy. I fully serviced pitch can make it easier if you intend to park up for a few days and are needing fresh water or to empty your grey waste. We go out in our Motorhome most days so a trip to the Motorhome service point is easy. Personally, I choose a pitch based on its size and the general room around it. In terms of hiring, that is a very good idea and you can hire all over the country. It will certainly give you a great insight in to motorhoming. Have a lovely week and take care, Karina 😊

Great beach for dogs. Ill have to try that site soon. Do you recommend it? We are newbies to this. Had our first trip to Cheddar bridge site a couple of weeks ago which was really nice. Staying at Eastfleet farm tommorow till Sunday. I think our pitch is around were you stayed on your video.Was it a good part of the site to stay on? Thanks
@HereWeTow9 ай бұрын
Thank you for watching, East Fleet was brilliant and where we were was definitely the better bit. Our friends moved from the part they were on as it was crowded and noisy. We had a good stay at this site, I always do a bit of research and try pick nice pitches as that can make a real difference. If you watch our vlogs from various places it will give you a good idea of places to try. You can always book a night or two and if you like it stay longer. Good sites to try are those with Tranquil Parks (Adults Only if you dont have kids) and Best of British. You will find some good sites to choose from. Enjoy your travels 😊😊
@paulstarr68189 ай бұрын
Hi we just got back from Eastfleet today. We really enjoyed it, weather was great which helped. We actually pitched at 49 too and it was a great spot. I dont know if you know this but Eastfleet may have been bought out by Away Resorts since you stayed but prices are still good, we paid £62 with our 2 dogs and if we wanted to stay another night it was only £6 extra. Shop was great, well stocked and reasonable prices too. We’re off to a small 8 pitch adult only site just outside Bridport called Ernie’s plot mid May that looks really nice. I dont know if you guys have been there too? Thanks Paul

Thank you Linda 😊 There are a number of hire companies across the UK depending on where you are located. If you search on the internet you will find several good companies. Just have a check of their customer reviews. They offer a variety of layouts and will have a shower and toilet. They explain what to do with everything when you pick them up. Thanks for watching 😊 Karina and Jules

The statue on the harbour in ilfracombe is called verity. She’s by an Artist called Damien Hurst. If you had walked down to the harbour to see her, you would of been able to see the Combe elephant. It’s a local landmark. There are other car park in ilfracombe which take motor homes. The one by Brookdale Church does right is in town and on the flat for those not up to the walk or hills. You can also walk from woolacombe to ilfracombe along the coastal path, it’s about 6 miles via Lee. There’s a hourly bus service from Combe to woolacombe for the return trip. And as you said in your video, the traffic wardens are enthusiastic about their jobs! Very enthusiastic so park with care people.

Sherry, thank you for taking the time to share the information about the buses, car park and the walk, that’s really appreciated. We are back in the summer so will have a look at the walk. Thank you, Karina

I remember going there shortly after it was unveiled to take a look, without asking Google was it about February 2014?

Loved your video as it was all about my old stomping ground when I was growing up! Saw my old house in Ilfracombe by the war memorial. 😊 Love your description of The Capstone that you walked up. Ilfracombe is an old victorian seaside town but unfortunately lots of the fabulous buildings have been demolished! I am surprised you parked at Brimlands (Hillsborough) as I thought the car park at Wilder Road would have been more suitable and more central, unless they don't allow motorhomes of course!
@HereWeTow3 жыл бұрын
Thank you Margo, it is a beautiful place and we loved it. I will have to look for Wilder Road to see how suitable it is for next time. 😊 Karina

Just seen on Ilfracombe website that Wilder Road car park doesn't have spaces for motorhomes but 100 yards down Wilder Road is Brook Dale car park and they have 10. Very convenient for town centre and also for sea front and the famous Tunnels Beach. 😊

You could have turned left at the first traffic lights in Ilfracombe. There is motorhome parking down near the harbour. Right by Adele’s cafe.

Thank you Andrew, someone else mentioned Wilder Road, I don’t know if that’s the same area. We are back in the summer so will try parking there. Thank you, Karina

Hi Karina, what's the engine power on the 'temporary' Coral? I love the bad sound on this one! 🤪... it sounds like you're dropping a box of cutlery onto the road behind you on every bump you go over! 🤣

😂I will stick to using my microphone next time! This is a 2.3 with 130bhp. It doesn’t have AdBlue and seems fairly well powered with the manual gearbox. We have a 140bhp Matrix last summer and it seems to have less power than this one. 🤔 Karina
@jaredb92813 жыл бұрын
@@HereWeTow our Matrix had sold out in the 140, so we're getting the 160, which I'm actually quite pleased about. The location seems lovely, but boy, a lot of these campgrounds have bleak pitches... no landscaping, no grass...it looks like a quarry! 🤣 At least you made your little spot nice and cosy 👍

Our DL is a 160 bhp too on the auto so be interesting to see how it drives 👍

How many miles has your Motorhome done? Time for new brakes?
@HereWeTow3 жыл бұрын
Hi Bill, 9700 miles and it’s just been through a service and MOT so worn pads should have been picked up, maybe they need lubrication as they will be drum brakes I believe. I will get them checked thanks, Karina
@billanderson62473 жыл бұрын
@@HereWeTow Definitely worth getting it checked Most garages offer free brake check But not even done 10,000 miles they should be fine.

Great vlog and Woolacombe beach looks very tempting. I would like to know how people think a big dog is safe in a harness on the Motorhome floor. He would be tossed around like a ball in a crash. He looks as happy as ever to me. Happy travels
