Hey everyone welcome back to another video. Today I am super excited to be taking a look at the 2022 Thor Outlaw 29J! This motorhome is AMAZING and I love it. One because it is an actual toy hauler motorhome. Two because the ramp door morphs into a party deck making this the perfect motorhomes for people with Toys and who love the outdoors!

Great review, Matt and Andrea! This is by far my favorite RV floor plan out there. So, the biggest plus for me that you didn't even mention is you can walk from the front cab to the bathroom, fridge, and bed without putting out the slide-outs. :-) But also, I can add a w/d to it and more solar. The fact that it has the hookup for propane outside is good, too, for a grill. This is very pet friendly. I had been considering a truck camper to keep my length down so I could get into the national and state parks but as a single woman traveling alone I want to be able to get from my bed to my cab without going outside and this does it for me while still being short enough for almost all of the parks. To me, this one has everything!

Thank heavens the interior looks clean, light and modern and not black leather like a 1950's gas station waiting room. These are beautifully capable vehicles and when I walk in at the RV shows I would almost cry at the nasty black. Hooray for beige!!

thor should've made a murphy bed by one of the couches because that garage is completely unusable if you haul a golf cart. where would we sleep if we're mid-trip and stop to rest along the way? not sure if anyone else commented about this, but that's a deal breaker for us.

#thor - This might be weird, but I would actually prefer a manual bed system. I’ve seen them in 5th wheels recently, and they’re still easy to use. That way, you’re not screwed out of a queen bed “if” (when) that motor breaks. The motorhome is still usable with the slide in - it would be great if you didn’t have to depend on a motor for the bed as well.

They also need to have a seating area under the drop down bed that folds down for more garage space or up with seats with a table for a party area in the garage at the back patio! You could store the rear table behind the seats in the back, or up front behind a couch. And, why doesn't somebody make TVs that fold down out of the ceiling? Some things i like about it and some things i dont. Like the garage, party deck!! But, with that, you have no bedroom. Like the two sofas, although i DO like the U shape dinettes. Like the 800# max in bunk over the cab. Lighter color furniture is way better than dark. Dont like no oven!🤨 still, a nice class c rv!

Wow! I've never seen anything like it! What a practical floorplan! There are still too many TVs in the wrong place. If the armrest was removed from one side of the sofa, the passenger seat could recline. The decor is neutral and nice. The deck is just awesome!

I don't really understand the garage/bedroom set-up. Am I missing something? If you filled the garage with a couple of bikes, maybe some patio chairs and table, plus the bulk of your clothes that would normally be hanging in built-in wardrobes in most RVs, then how do you use the bed? How do you bring it down and use it if the garage is reasonably full?

I think bikes, outdoor furniture, bbqs and things like that would be the appropriate things to carry in the garage as you would need to put them elsewhere to gain your bedroom again. However do keep in mind the bed does not have to be brought all the way down for sleeping so you would still have useful underneath space.

We have a 2021 29J and really like it! Couple of small improvements made on the 22 that are nice. I saw they relocated the garage bed switch from the AC cabinet to the shelf below. Had been a problem with water affecting the switch. Collapsible ladder for cab bunk is nice as is charging port by the couch. We haul 3 elementary aged kids and dirtbikes and spent 50+ nights in it last year. Drop down bed is nice in the garage as if you're on a longer trip and need to pull over to sleep, can partially lower the bed above the stuff in the garage. Twin couch setup is awesome, have not missed the dinette. Nice to give the girls space to sprawl out on the couches. With the slide in, it makes one large bed space. For us, a few improvements would a nicer trim option from Ford that modernizes the dash with something like a Ford Lariat package would be nice. Payload is pretty limited so if you have full family, full water tank, not much cargo capacity. The stereo unit is junk and needs to be upgraded. Sewer hose storage is not functional, doesn't even fit a usable sewer hose. Been a few quality issues that thankfully have been able to address myself. Beyond that though, nothing else on the market that works as well for our needs.

It's too bad Thor discontinued the 29 s model. I feel like it's a much more usable floor plan with having a smaller garage and a bedroom with a Murphy bed

Yes, I have cried this for years, #Thormotorcoach should still special order the 29s floorplan for those who want it. Who wants a bed in a garage that smells like gasoline and oil??? Those side vents are useless. Maybe they are counting on lithium powered ATVS and motorcycles. lol, way to go Elon Musketeer!!

I really like these RVs and I agree with that color change they were just too dark before inside and out and as a large dog owner these workout great for my German shepherds they have a lot more room to lay inside

I feel the same Matt and Andrea can’t come up with anything I did like except the toilet and tv placement. Other than that I like this Thor Outlaw. I love the two couches and the table that comes with it. Love the garage. Love the colors too in the couch and cabinetry. Thank you matt and Andrew for showing this Rv.

Here are two positive reasons for a pedestal toilet: 1. People with disabilities. I’m an amputee, and though I get around quite easily, I do use handicapped toilets (which are higher) in case I need to make prosthetic leg adjustments while in the rest room. The taller toilet makes things much easier for me. 2. Tall people. My husband is 6’4”, and the taller toilet is easier on him. That being said, that is a VERY high step for the shower, and, I would remove the shelf under the sink so that you could have a bathroom trash can in there.

I Have to disagree with some of you. I love the black and grey, it woud be nice to have some blue accents too, but red is fine. I thought the black sofas looked better than the beigey ones. I really dislike the browns, beige and creams and I hate the white's. The color of the cabinets is beigey, I much prefer actual wood colors-Maple, Cherry, Ash, etc. I also have to disagree about the no dinette. I wish it had a dinette at least as an option. I also dislike the high step up into the shower. The TV placements could also be improved, you could put one TV behind one of the sofa's on a lift. I liked the patio, seems simple to set up. I also liked the pantry. Why does no one put the bed over the cab on lifts or struts so you can put a real matress over the cockpit and still be able to get the bed out of the way so you can sit down? We have the technology. FYI, I am a female and I love the colors black, grey and blue.

I agree that while I do not dislike the new colors, the old came close to matching my Mojave Jeep interior i love and would tow. As a 6'2" male over 65, I REALLY like a toilet that isn't so short. TV's definitely need a redesign. I can see me retiring to this next year for a 6mo sight seeing trip with Harley and Jeep.

I would love to see someone demonstrate the seat swivel in the E450 models. I just bought a 2022 Jayco Greyhawk 27U and can't figure out how to swivel the seats "easily". Driver side seems impossible and passenger side is a struggle! Lol

You have to adjust the seats.bring them forward first.then I believe there’s a longer skinny handle on the side you pull up and then twist 👍

If you use electric bikes like me there is nothing to smell but you have to empty out the garage to use your master bedroom. I mean really, you're sleeping in the garage!

Overall I really like this unit. I think it would be better though if the entry door was right behind the cab, a televator put on the driver's side with theater seats on the passenger side and improving the step into the shower and fix the toilet placement so maybe next time you to can get a prime pooping position from Matt ✌🇺🇲 Merica!

Thor! Please do some upgrades!!! Would love for this to have higher end finishes, slam latches, etc… is nearly perfect as love the garage as a home office in the day (I can work anywhere, but need quiet for phone calls) and love having an area with a door to sequester the dogs when needed… but the TV placement is an absolute deal breaker- needs to be across from theater seats!! Would love to see this floor plan, but in an A style with big windshield!

I think Matt and Andrea may have been mistaken about the TV being stuck over the bunk. On the older models of the 29J, the TV above the bunk swings outward so that you can easily view from the seating areas. I would find it very strange for Thor to change that and no longer allow for a swinging TV, the placement would be so awkward.

Love the garage and patio. But I would need a ladder to get on the bed because I'm putting a work bench and craft drawers in there. Hate the two sofas. I'd rather have a small dinette (room for 2), a desk, and a lazy-boy recliner. The colors...meh. I actually liked the black and red because it was different than everything else. Black and turquoise or black and light green would have been even better, IMO. And us tall people with long legs appreciate a tall toilet. We don't all have short legs like you, Matt. LOL!

I love this rv and would not hesitate to purchase except for one problem, it will not hold my trike. I need at least 10 feet and 1200 lbs. I realize there is a larger class A, but that sucker is gigantic! If they could put double axle and add 2 ft to the garage, I would own one tomorrow.

Likes: Rear bed height is adjustable, privacy for the rear bedroom area with the sealed garage door, bunk over the cab holds 800# Dislikes: Twist lock basement storage doors, water connections should be behind a lockable cover, and the exterior decals.

Not a fan of the TV locations, I like the lighter colors. The garage needs to be at least 10' long and I think that one is either 8 or 9 foot? Not a big fan of only 1 a/c unit. Great job you two!

The overall look of this is so much better. The only thing that would stop me from buying it (aside from price of course) is that ccc. Is it 1600lbs for the whole motor home or just the front? Because your average UTV is at least 1500lbs so what can you really haul in your toy hauler? Also, I'm instantly angry at that fake oven drawer. If you're not giving me an oven don't fake me out on it.

So, I love the patio and dislike it, too. But maybe I could keep the furbabies up front and let them in the bedroom when the patio was closed? I doubt it. LOL

I LOVE this! I have a 29' Dutchman (older than dirt) that I don't want to give up because I adore it. This would make me upgrade. Why 4 televisions? I travel for work doing craft shows and the garage area would give me a great work space without taking over the whole living area. Was there a bump-out? If so, would have been nice to see it opened up.

This is a good option vs a towable version. While not a smart car, I could see a couple of scooters or a motorcycle town runs once at a site. Like all things there are some issues to decide if I can live with. The great dinette vs sofa/table debate is a toss up for me. The dinette becomes extra counter space while the table only provides more space when not in use. For the price, I would have really look at something like an ACE and this (though the ACE would probably win as the cats would like it better).

Really like this motorhome, the garage/patio is amazing along with the two opposing couches. One thing they must improve and correct is the situation with the passenger seat. There is no way I can consider a unit where the passenger seat is similar to a bus seat. Also the tv's need to be better placed. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Good one to review. I didn't know not know until recently that you could even get a Class C toy hauler. Surprised it is shorter than our Esteem 29V. Dislikes: twisty locks on storage bays that you have to hold open/up; CCC - deal breaker (does the 1641 include what is in garage? If so, why bother), no dinette, plastic shower 'door' (deal breaker), toilet (deal breaker), LIkes: it's not brown/beige/tan, exterior tv, rear 'balcony'. Explain why no small car in a toyhauler, class a, if it is under the max weight???????? Terrible RV and a ridiculous MSRP.

i counted at least 7 things that i don't like ..the twisty doors outside , the toilet and shower high step up , the fact you got to hold the botton to let the bed down ,and up.. i do like a dinette because most has little counter space and i could use the dinette to do prep work for cooking. the door is just a cheap luan door with flimsy hinges . no window in front of cab area etc etc and i absolutely hate the valances. I swe4ar it looks so cheap.. two things i do like ...counter top pattern and bedroom / garage . i could go on and on..i give this a nfm rating (NOT FOR ME.

I would rather see a dinette instead of 2 couches. If I am working on the road, a dinette is a good place to work. I like the dinette on the camp side of the RV so I can look out over the campsite while I’m sitting and working or eating. I’m not sure that I like the bed in the garage. It has great ventilation, but what does it look like with the ramp door closed. Can you still lower the bunk? Still, it is a “garage” and doesn’t have the feel of a “bedroom”.

Carry Capacity is way too low. They really need to beef up the suspension and maybe go with a diesel front motor (Fred), to get the weight limits up if they really want to make this a viable option for a toy haller.

I thought the outlaw was a class a? maybe that was years ago as my hubby and i came “this close” to buying one. loved it but would have loved more to know it was also in a class c. not as scary to drive.
