Interesting comparison, great idea about using the electric motors to elimiate any speed difference attributable to the difference in the 2 paddlers. The Sea Eagle was faster it seems but not significantly so. I appreciate that it's lighter and it a bit faster plus has the foot rests, but do you think it's worth the extra price over the Aquatec / Sanbanks Optimal which are less than half the rpice of the Sea Eagle? Any differences in stability between the Sea Eagle and the Aquatec/Sandbanks? Cheers

@@TheKayakCrew in terms of versatility, the Ottawa wins hands down - it's a good day boat and has enough deck space to carry overnight/camping gear. Whereas the EZlite is a great day boat. Over the last year I've realised I love lightweight, nimble, low maintenance, small pack down size boats, (which is why I love the Deschutes) and the EZLite fits that bill nicely. As for stability, it's on a par with the other 2 you mentioned. It rocks from side to side easier because it's got a V shaped hull but that doesn't make it unstable - it means you've got more options with leaning it.

@@MoreThanJustaCleaner Ok, thanks. I'm leaning more towards lighter boats too recently, mainly after having to do a lot of portaging around weirs and locks on rivers I've been paddling. Plus getting older so struggle more to carry the kayak and all the gear 🤣 Is it the AG Deschutes 100 kayak you have?

I've got the EZLite10 and I'm guessing the V hull is improving the performance. Not sure if the Ottawa has the V hull.
@MoreThanJustaCleaner2 ай бұрын
@@CaptApril123 interesting you should say that because in a test with Ottawa Vs Sandbanks Optimal which has a V Hull, the Ottawa was faster!

Very interesting comparison. But the price point for these two is very different.
@MoreThanJustaCleaner2 ай бұрын
@@Maelstrom-Sup-Kayak-Boat-Store you're absolutely right and in terms of versatility the Ottawa is by far the best craft in that you can store more gear on it if you were going on a camp for a day or 2. However I've done to realise I love lightweight, nimble crafts, hence my interest. I only really want a big boat for camping trips and I'm loving the Halve and the Chelan for that 👍😁

My Sea Eagle Fasttrack is awesome and very similar to boats people in your group drive. I've been drooling at that EZLite because that little thing weighs half of my boat. The EZLight's sculpting is very nice, even though I'm sorry but those colors make it look like a pool toy. I DRIVE mine with the aid of a Bixpy motor that I use and have abused. What I haven't figured out yet is if I can get an E-fin shipped to the United States. Why? The E-Fin costs less than half what the Bixpy costs. I can have both if I want and keep one of them as a backup (probably the E-fin.) Really, that E-Fin costs less than a Bixpy battery. I want one! E-Fin to the USA! FREE THE FIN! (before tariffs from our numpty new President wreak havoc on the global economy. yay.)
