@redneckwithajeep50016 жыл бұрын
RetroGuy76 lol that's kinda frightening to think about. I probably own a vehicle of a similar length to what you took your test in. A 1966 Chevrolet Impala. I live in a small town but if you look at the public records for it when they started mass production of the long cars of the 60s and 70s they actually redesigned main Street by adding a parking lot up and down one side completely and reduced the size of the park. Apparently they had an issue with cars like that being in 2 marked parallel parking spaces. I took my driving test in 2013. I can't imagine how people would react today to the big cars of that time if they had to parallel park with one. Honestly I think driving tests should be done in those kinds of vehicles if you can drive one of those then you can drive anything on today's roads. I still laugh when I'm in anything remotely that size and a smart car pulls up next to me. The two sitting together just kinda is a commical sight

I remember being 18 just learning to drive bc I just saved enough money to buy a old used car, I scratched another car (a new Lincoln) trying to park. A lady jumped out of her car and banged on my window to tell me not to drive off (which I was gonna do). But when I started crying and telling her I was scared and I didn't have any money, and my family didn't have any money, and I didn't know what to do, I asked her to come with me to tell the store manager so I wouldn't have to do it alone. When we got in the store, I started to tell them what happened, and she cut me off and told them that SHE did it. No insurance was contacted, she gave the owner cash to cover the scratch repair. That moment taught me a huge moral lesson that I carry with me today into my 30s, that people make mistakes and sometimes need a little help, even if it means personal sacrifice. She did the right thing by stopping me from driving off, but then she went a whole extra mile by taking the heat for me. I don't even remember that woman's name but what she did helped shape the person I am now, because I never could have imagined such love and support from a stranger. Just goes to show that even if you can't change the world, you can change one person's whole world by being a great person. Now I give as much as I can to help others because that one hour of my life taught me so much about doing everything you can to help other people.
@mankind-redefined19825 жыл бұрын
I'll be perfectly honest, I accidentally hit someone's back bumper at a stop light. It wasn't damaged at all, neither was my car (I was at 5mph at that point), but when they veered off to a gas station I just drove away. I guess I was just really scared since I was pretty young. Still feel bad about that >_>
