Since you are able to slip cranks , did you ever thought on putting stuffers inside it to reduce the extra volume of the crankcase ? Like bolted teflón stuffers I saw on a lot of motocross builds , or even aluminium would work

I don't understand why people think that is a good idea...... has no effect on 2 stroke other then decreasing volume the carb draws in not compression gain or w/e people it does. bigger the case volume more air fuel mix volume it sah room to pull in then push into piston to fire. whole idea just makes no sense from pratical basic understanding of how 2 strokes work. unless your mounting a top end needs smaller crank area then makes sense like 50cc on 100cc bottom end cause volume is so large 50cc piston can fully fill it enough clear it on down stroke enough to create vacuum seems to be confused with people thinking this improves power for some reason but they have the whole basics of it backwards!

So the 38mm crank fits the yd100bottom end

yes! you need to use the crank shims though 1 on each side! few places sell them. some on ebay and all of the above pre made! rdmanu.com/ makes the best ones like $15. they have nice brass ones well worth 15$ I on other hand have cnc mill so make my own out of brass sheets. copper brass a or the stainless ones all work! tend to not use stainless ones cause if they where to ever get damaged hard metal would chew everything up! to be honest I don't think you really even need them! seen many made without them. it literally is .5mm each side total of 1mm in width. You will need a spacer on magnet side few washers! ans use the thin crank seal! not thicker yd100 one. type like a 80cc bottom end uses! "washer" 1 normally will raise magnet up 1.5mm ish to clear the case since 80cc cranks had a magnet seat 1mm lower then yd100

Did you put the Magneto magnet on in the right direction? When you have shaft ket side facing up is it pointing to 1 o'clock position? IF the plug is WET Change CDI if magnet is correct? Faulty CDI can cause backfire. If it is not wet looking! If it has strong spark put few drops gas down spark plug hole see if it fires for few seconds? If yes it's carb related! to small or to large of a carb can cause lots issues really fast! Also be aware! IF your using a carb with a pull type choke lever one that does not have a choke door that is mechanical! Like VM22 or PWK you put the choke on and give it "no gas" doing so will not allow it to start as well! Bigger carbs are not the type that like throttle at all applied to them with choke on "till they start up!"
