Pull start and centrifugal clutch are worth the cost ! I'm building a tiny minibike with that and the 80cc two stroke bicycle engine . It should haul butt 😂.

Nice to see someone else had the patience and mechanical deduction to figure out a shift kit install. My three completed builds in the last 10 years were all shift kitted because of my weight and the mountainous area I live in. I learned after my first build to never use a 'three piece' bracket again! Only use a one piece U shaped bracket that attaches to the back of the engine. As for your close ratios when shifting, I too am still working on a solution... My first two builds I used a Shimano Inter7 internal shift seven speed hub. I found my self only using first, third, fifth, sixth and seventh gears as second and fourth were so close to their neighboring odd numbered gears. Even when pedaling I skipped second and sometimes skipped fourth - and that was with a 48T ring on the crank relaying power to the hub. My third and last completed build so far had a 2x3 drive trane as this was the second bike I used a front derailer and three rings on the crank with the engine. Unhappy with the overall gear ratio it evolved to 2x8 using an eight speed free hub. It seemed I just replicated the 1x7 with the previous internal hub in that I never achieved pedaless launch and I was skipping gears due to close ratios. I got lucky when I scored a wheel with a cassette style hub. I've built an 11,50 eight speed cassette. I had to build one cassette from two because to use a cog larger than 34T for first gear I had to buy a nine speed cassette. But nine speed (and higher) cassettes use a narrower chain than a typical 10 speed and need a shifter with shorter/matching cable pulls. So buying the nine speed and spacing the cogs to work with my eight speed shifter was the least expensive option to achieve the 11,50 spread. My aim is to achieve pedaless launch with a stock 49cc two stroke using a manual clutch. That's shouldn't be a problem with a 48-50 first gear and a 36T on the pedal crank dedicated to engine output. Climbing hills definitely won't be a problem and top speed will only be limited by engine power with a 48-11 final drive gear. In short, I may still end up skipping gears due to close ratios. But my overall gear ratio range will allow pedaless launch (with a manual clutch) without sacrificing top speed or beating the piss out the engine with high RPMs. I will say one advantage to a manual clutch vs a centrifugal is gear shifts are engaged by engine idle. When using a centrifugal clutch you essentially go into 'neutral' everytime you let off the throttle and shifts are not engaged until you pedal or apply throttle. This leaves however slight the risk of shock loading the drive trane when throttle is applied. The only absolute way to avoid this is with a manual clutch and an internal shift hub - as internal hubs require no torque/drive applied to the trane in order to shift. But another down side to internal hubs is when higher than a five speed is used, the shift linkage has to be dead center or you'll burn it up. Internal hubs don't 'rattle' or skip like external derailers do to warn you off an off setup. They'll just slip leaving you thinking it's the clutch and the pawls wear out leaving you stranded. I didn't mean to drone on or rant. I'm really quite impressed with your build and how smooth it runs. I just wanted to share my experience and possibly help you with the next project.

thanks! from what you ne tioner regarding not using "3 brackets" you are using just one U bracket in the rear of the engine?im using 2 in my build. Regarding the gear ratio im still waiting for the 44T chainring, i hope that can solve the gear ratio

nice build man! glad you could get that shift kit working i’ve seen so many videos where they are just a peice of junk and everyone gives up on them, little peice of advice too when warming the engine up it’s not to good for a two stroke to idle while warming up it can cause a lot of gunk build up with oil, i recommend starting it let it idle for maybe 10-15 seconds and give it a few little blips of throttle then just go on out and ride it while babying it, i blew up an engine on one of my earlier bikes because i would let it warm up idling and when i did some research on it i was pretty surprised about how to properly warm it up but if you rlly think about it it kind of makes sense 🤷♂️ awesome bike man ride safe!

You better be carful! Or use really good derailleur parts and such! When your Derailleurs Turns to dust and flips around upside-down you will feel it really hard as if tangles in your spokes. Use a hub shifting wheel. Way to dangerous like that! Page one of instructions says it even lol! Look up what I'm saying on motorized bicycle forums! people that learned hard way before you do to! there just not meant to take the power of 2 stroke. Hub wheel shifter can though! Looks cool stay safe!

Hi I am installing a centrifugal clutch on my motorize bike there is something that I would like to ask you when you installed the extension housing on your motor did the flower nut hit against the bulge part of the extension housing if it did how did you fix the problem
@siklistademakina3 жыл бұрын
did you add gaskets?you should add at least 4 gaskets to space the housing from the engine
@siklistademakina3 жыл бұрын
and dont more gaskets because the clutch bell might rub the extension housing

how would you start one of these bikes with the centrifugal clutch without a pull start?
@siklistademakina3 жыл бұрын
some centrifugal clutch kits have sprag joints or bearings in them that can be used to start them by pedaling but most of the time you will need a pull start, plus wide cranks to clear the extra stuff bolted on the engine

first mod to do pretty much ever i’d recommend is a good expansion chamber, from there i’d probably clean up the ports and up jet a little bit, those three are usually a pretty good base for preformance mods but other rlly good ideas can be reed valves and with those you’ll need to run a windowed piston to make it run right and you can even add a third transfer port to rlly let those reed valves make you some power, and then of course the little things are always rlly good like a good spark plug a cdi a larger head for cooling clutches things like those can rly finish off a build and make it feel complete, good luck on your build man 👍
