The carburetor became clogged, possibly due to dirt in the fuel or tank. Most likely the jet is clogged. its happens to me when i left the bike without ride for a while. If you don't have tools to disassemble the carburetor, you can try dropping the rear wheel from about 30 or 40 cm a few times. That sometimes helps, while you are using the motorcycle.

I used to have one of my bike that had a faulty kill switch. It would be running top notch and the die at low throttle and would not start. Spark plug wet with gas. I'd unhook kill switch wires and it would start. Not saying what happened here but it acted the same way your bike is doing!!
