Hanging Out With Audiophiles is my long running podcast where, every episode, I get into a technical matter (aka Nitty) in the studio then chat with a fine guest and REPEAT!
Find the show here:

For this video special NITTY I strap a motor onto a guitar with silly putty, convert the string vibrations into gate signals to clock a pitch sequencer that's part of my eurorack synth setup.
A Moog theramin is used to additionally mess with time and sound.
The pitch antenna controls motor speed and the volume alters pitch and tone (this theremin has CV outputs)
The unit that does most of the heavy lifting here is the excellent koma electronics "field kit"
koma-elektroni...
This is not a sponsored vid. I just like this thing :)
Hope this is entertaining in some capacity.

Video gritty! And obviously the guitar is a funky Hofner. Funny that the other day was listening to an old episode of haninging out (maybe the atrak one)and you were saying something like “i don’t get the modular thing”. It’s great that you’re more than getting it. Hope it’s all good with the family.

hello there. great stuff you have going on there. great righ as well. uff. anyway, did not catch that aux out bit (1:46-1:55) are you running aux out to where? some sort of gate converter (koma aux out to detect r-x in and from there it generates gate output wchic runs further into other modules)? wow. so are you converting autdio signal into gate/cv signal? wow. sorry I am new into modular synthesis. I kind of understand meaning of cv (not as much gate and envelope, one day i will though). sometimes I have hard time with audio and differentiate between audio sighnal and cv signal too (when both in one module). my field kit is on the way as I found one cheap on the net and I always liked it. so far I have a lifeforms sv/1, clouds, benjoling, morphagene. I know I should start concentrating now on lfo's, filters etc, but I could not resist to get that koma field kit, when stubmled upon cheap one. hope i can incorporate it into my rig mentioned above.

Right ! You got it. The R-x turns the audio from the guitar to a gate that advances the sequencer.
