In Canada, Toyotas have absurd wait times. The dealers treat you like they're doing you a favour. No thanks. I still prefer when dealers throw in extras to woo you and make an effort to get your business.

I remember getting my Camry I had asked about a Sienna and the salesman said just forget we even sell it because we'll never get one! In fairness, I got the same attitude about hybrid models at the Kia dealership. We'll probably buy my wife a Ford Escape PHEV because they're actually available

Add to that the crazy high insurance rate due to all the Toyota theft and it's just not worth the hassle getting one, no matter how good they are.

I've had my 2025 XSE AWD for about a week now. I absolutely LOVE it. The only gripe i can think of so far is that you cannot lift the driver side windshield wiper off the windshield when the hood is down. I know a lot of people like to lift the wipers up when snow is in the forecast overnight if they do not have a garage. Fortunately for me, my Camry will be garaged at home and at work. But I could see it being a problem for others. The 2025 camry is a phenomenal upgrade from the previous generation. Definitely worth the price. The 19 inch wheels on the XSE look sleek, and the handling rivals some Lexus models.

Great video. Im tempted to get it. Still driving my 2010 Camry LE 180000 miles and still love it. Updated the radio to Kenwood Android Auto / Car play head unit. Body is still in very good shape. Dont do 10000 mile oil changes. Change out the oil at 5000 miles. We also have a 2018 Rav4 hybrid and my wife got a 2024 Lexus something SUV hybrid. The Lexus almost drives itself on the highway just gotta move the wheel so it knows your awake or what ever that safety stuff is. Gotta say that the Lexus is just a solid feel. Its hard to explain one would have to drive one to understand. Feels more solid than my 2014 Silverado. Still love my run around Camry. Much sentimental value.

I would prefer the more fuel-efficient LE trim that is available with CLOTH seats in America. Plus, it's a lot cheaper too. The main problem with the hybrids in Canada is the 3-year wait times just to get one. Place your order and your $1,000 non-refundable deposit, and then wait 3 to 3.5 years before you actually get one, and by then the dealer just might tack on an 'extra $2,000 dealer fee' as well. That's why more people are going to Mazda products instead.

Except for one thing...the center console lid rubs and squeaks horribly against the side bolsters of the seats. I noticed in your review; the passenger seat appears to also sit tight against the console lid. Did you encounter any squeaking from the materials rubbing against each other? I have been told by a friend who works at Toyota. They real reason they ditched the Camry LE, is to convince those who want a base Camry to get a fully loaded XLE Corolla or Corolla Cross. Also those who is driving a Camry V6 would like to see a Hybrid Max as an optional engine choice. But its not a writing on the wall that Canadian Camry won't get an LE. Who knows we might see it next year. But as someone who has a 2015 Camry SE hybrid as a company car.I will likely wait for a used one, in a decade.

Great review, as always. Looks like a great overall effort. From what I can tell, the touch screen graphics aren't particularly attractive or easy to distinguish at a glance. This has been my experience with other Toyotas. I find Honda's coloured icons on a black background easier to quickly identify. (This isn't a comment on how well organized the interface is. I can't speak to that.)

@@philipf2705 Respectfully disagree:- Stripped down corrolla there isnt anything like that exist in the market(27k+tax) 30k is ur stripped down corrolla built n see one. I got two cars a 2016 crv we bought new n a new 2024 Cx-5. Not everybody looking for a 5-10 year old used liability some people would like to buy new n keep it for 20 years. There is nothing available in NA market like an entry level A-B vehicle like in Europe or Asia. I can see a lot of new nissan kicks/versa or chevy trax on the roads these days is not because people like them its just because thats the only decent entry level vehicle in the market that they can afford. Your points "sales numbers"- if there is nothing available for $15k new then people stretch out their budget n extend payments to 96 months n buy the 35k cars or go used which will show in sales numbers. Buying a used high spec car not always a smart financial decision for everybody some prevous owners were hesitant on fluid changes n maintenance and u bear that liability. "No one wants a base model car" is my original point those who buy those base model new cars will not need another new for the next 15-20 years so out of greed manufacturers eliminated that segment.

I would like to see Toyota come out with a Camry Limited trim level, more of an upscale entry level luxury model. It would bridge the gap between the discontinued Avalon and the Toyota Crown. Add wood grain paneling on the door around the gear shifter, and the steering wheel. Include more soft touch material for an overall more refined elegant Camry. Toyota has always done well with their hybrids. But, I would strongly recommend NEVER pay over MSRP for any new vehicles! I also wouldn't pay extra for the XSE glass-roof. I don't even want that glass roof at all, yet they are charging customers extra for that? NOT ME! It's an up-charge option forced upon the consumer for over $1300. Good luck when the roof shatters for no obvious reason, because that is going on. There is a defect somewhere in the body that causes the glass roof to shatter on its own. I also don't like the fact that Toyota is stating the engine takes 0W8 engine oil. That's like water!!!!

I think we'll keep our 22 model. Toyota phoned it in. I was expecting more and now they're offering less. TRD is gone and so is the real transmission. I'm sure the hybrid system is wonderful, seeing as Toyota mastered that. They changed the front and rear and some knick knacks in the cabin. Really poor effort by Toyota.

Thanks for the review, folks. I’ve just bought a 2025 Camry XSE AWD partly because of your review. Now I have a question about CarPlay. I have been somewhat challenged with the CarPlay functionality for this Camry. In my 2021 Tundra, I have wireless CarPlay set up via a dongle. When I receive a text message while music is playing, the volume level of the music will decrease so I can hear the text as it is being read out loud to me. In our new Camry with wireless CarPlay, we will receive the text but the music volume level does not decrease making it extremely difficult to hear the text. Is there a setting I am missing? To review, my iPhone 11 works fine in the Tundra as I stated above, but not in the Camry. Thanks again, Grant, Red Deer, Canada

Toyota/Lexus is consistently rated as the best for long-term reliability. Honda/Acura has fallen since 2016. Don't get me wrong, Honda/Acura long-term reliability is not terrible, but if long-term reliability is the most important to you, then Toyota/Lexus wins.

Toyota will sell every one of these they can build. It's a declining segment (mid-size sedans), which is why many brands dropped their models (the Altima, which was one of the comparison vehicles is gone next year). If you are buying in this segment, it's going to be tough to beat this vehicle. It's partly why other brands have dropped their models in this class. Toyota and Honda likely have 80% of this segment leaving the others to fight over the scraps. That might be why Hyundai isn't bringing in the Sonata Hybrid (lack of sales), but I agree with Zack and Andrea, if you're going to offer one powertrain, make it a hybrid since that's where everything is going now.

@CedroCron

I would buy the Sonata over the Camry because there is no Gas only model with the Camry and Hybrids are expensive to fix as they age versus Gas only and I keep my cars until the wheels fall off because I'm not on the perpetual payment machine which a Camry Hybrid would have you on. This is because Camry Hybrid pretty well makes it garbage at 10 years when the battery pack is toast because it's too expensive to fix this and other components related to the hybrid model. Gas only Sonata model for the win in this regard. No problem keeping it on the road 20 years like I did with my Santa Fe with minimal repairs.

On average, you can expect to pay between $2,000 and $4,000 for a Camry hybrid battery replacement, including labor costs. The hybrid batteries on Camry's can be expected to last 8 to 10 years or 150,000 miles (240,000 km) to 200,000 miles (320,000 km).

It's likely very similar to Camry in terms of the drive. They are very close on paper. Top of the line Camry is $10k less than the base Crown in Canada. Interior wise they're close. Crown is likely a bit more luxurious and quiet. I'd personally stay with a Camry or get a Lexus ES if I wanted smth more upscale. ES costs slightly less vs Crown. Imo Crown is a very goofy vehicle that is priced badly.
