WARNING: Contains sudden loud sounds!
This 10" LP record is Narrated by Norman Ross and features Jonathan Winters playing several "sound experts" who are interviewed about the history of sound: Sir Trafalgar Whitley, Miss Maude Frickert, and B.B. ("Big Biz") Bindlestiff.
This original 1959 or '60 stereo custom pressing represents the degree of perfection in sound reproduction that record enthusiasts have been seeking since the birth of the phonograph. This vivid quality of sound realism is accomplished by one needle, tracking in a single record groove, that picks up two separate and independent recordings. These two recordings are then fed into an ingenious Motorola Golden Audio Separator -- the secret of 3-channel stereo. From this Golden Audio Separator come three -- not two -- separate systems of recorded information: two for mid-range and high frequencies, one for low. These three systems of sound are fed into three separate amplifiers which are electronically matched to three separate Golden Voice multiple-speaker systems. The resulting stereophonic effect, that of actually filling the room with 'wall-to-wall sound,' must be heard to be believed. (Source: Amazon.com)

"Little natives maybe boiling missionary" 😅 With noises selected to highlight the hi-fi stereo 👍😉. "Recorded sounds now have reached the pinnacle of fidelity" They hadn't planned on digital yet 😁 . Thanks for sharing with a hello from Belgium 🙋‍♂️

Is it a single sided disc? Or is there something on the b-side?

I guess this was from the early days of stereo, before it was mainstream enough to replace mono, and the record companies were experimenting to find what equipment achieved the best stereo effect, like RCA's "Living Stereo" or Command's 35mm recordings etc. The engineering of trying something new while still remaining compatible with the stereo platform is impressive. Some echoes of Motorola's approach continue to this day, with subwoofers being an accepted part of home theater, car, and even PC systems. Thanks for posting!

I never heard the demo LP, but I was captivated by Johnathan Winters' characters. Absolutely one of the all-time best character comedians.

Sounds like Jonathan Winters was the "Phil Hendrie" of his time. Voice-acting is apparently a timeless skill.

Packard-Bell had a similar series of 3-Channel Stereo Demonstration LPs. They were made for Packard-Bell by Dot and Warner Bros. Records and came in octagon shaped sleeves. And they featured enhanced mixes of selections from whatever Middle of The Road act from the late 1950s/early 1960s on these labels (I could tell they were enhanced mixes because I heard the original stereo versions on their parent LPs and they're not quite as bright and dynamically wide. So there was some control room gimmickry to sell the stereo on these records.)

Sounds like they are calling the mono and xtra channel, that's a stretch.

Yes and no. It’s the “.1” of modern 5.1 or 7.1 etc sound systems, what comes out of the subwoofer.
