Been wanting to try something new aside from Samsung and LG which I have bought many in past times. My husband has the Moto G7 power and his loves it, battery life last him for about 3 days before he has to change it and he's always on his phone. I got me a Moto Stylus couple weeks ago and I'm happy with it. Still learning it, what attracted me was the Ram and storage, stylus and 3 cameras is a bonus. I trust the brand, they're always build with technology to last, reliable, and chic. Loving it! 🥰

Two things about this phone I think is being underplayed: 1. Nobody emphasizing that this is a steal for 128-GB internal memory. Everybody talking about stylus or battery size on the “power” model. Apps & OS are getting bigger and bloated. 128-GB will be necessary in a couple years. 2. Only enthusiasts seem to mind that the NFC is missing, but the general public doesn’t seem to care too much. This was a REAL tough decision; I enjoy NFC Google Pay tap-and-pay...feel like I am back to the future. At the end of the day, I decided to purchase this...I value “affordable internal storage” more than “tap-and-pay.”

Number 1 especially on top of the fact with expandable memory means you can literally get it too even 256 GBs for only $20 more, not even the iPhone or many high-end phones can do that.

April Privott I think it depends on how the app was developed. If I remember correctly, some apps can load from SD cards, and some not so much. Not sure if it’s based on resources, security, or whatever.

Perfect timing. I have been debating on the new moto phones, waiting for more reviews as they come out. Then I saw the Google 3a on sale for $300. I like the camera on the Google better and the size, but battery life and memory storage on the moto. I happened upon this video and you just happened to mention both makes phones, awesome! I woke up at 5:30 this morning and started using my phone then and used it fairly heavily at work and it's almost 8:00 at night and I still have almost 50% left. I haven't had the opportunity to use the cameras much yet but they are very very good. It has probably the best selfie camera I've ever seen on a phone that I've owned. The macro camera that they are pushing is silly and not that great. the 48 megapixel regular camera has taken some really great shots. But like I said I haven't put it totally through its paces yet. I paid $300 for it and it is well worth the price.

Both phones have solid cameras for the price. Those who say otherwise... Are looking for note 10 quality or so much higher...these are budget phones for a reason!! Noone cares what the image quality is as long as they can see the picture and it doesn't look like it was filmed on a potato! If the g power doesn't work out for her I'd get her the stylus. She doesn't use the stylus on her stylo 3 really so that's why I went the other direction. May review it if I can. Good luck with your stylus though. let me know if any updates on yours! Like internet speed. Sluggish performance etc. I keep hearing about it.

Well I got one of these Moto G's and the memory is a big plus. NFC not added I don't need it. Price was very sensible for my uses. Camera with the macro to get clear close pictures, very nice! Very satisfied.

I've had the Moto g stylus for 6 months now. Overall, a good phone. A bit hard to take out that stylus. Also, the camera does not perform as well as I would like. But hey, for $200, I have to say I'm impressed. The sound is what I bought the phone for. Unfortunately, the system updates seem to interrupt that wonderful service. Once you buy your phone, you'll notice that the sound will play out of two speakers. But after some time, you'll notice that gets limited down to the bottom speaker if you're playing a video without headphones. I was very disappointed when this happened to my phone. The only solution seems to be to have to do a factory reset every time it happens. So far I've had to do five factory resets in the last 6 months just to be able to restore the sound to both speakers.

The unlocked type prices will be identical for a while. Telecom companies and Google Fi will have offers that will change over time. If you want to save a few dollars, you need to look for offers every week.

The Galaxy Note has huge customer loyalty. Note customers are more likely to buy a new Note than any other phone. Once someone uses a stylus phone, going back is hard. And the Stylo is too low end, the note is expensive. Nothing hit the 300-500 midrange segment with a good stylus phone. And there were no options, in any price range, for a stylus phone with unskinned android. If Motorola plays this right, and releases a new stylus phone every year, the customer adoption would be astounding.

I wouldn't be too optimistic! The Moto G stylus is truly a budget phone, with mediocre (but still capable) performance, a mediocre camera and OK screen. And no NFC! Chinese companies like Honor (Huawei), Redmi (Xiaomi) and Realme (Oppo) give you better cameras and more performance and features for the same price. In the USA where Chinese phones don't work, the new iPhone SE and Pixel 3a or 4a are no-brainers under $400.

@@user-xg6zz8qs3q Lack of NFC isn't a deal breaker. Alot of people don't use it, and it is something that can be complimented well with a smartwatch that does have NFC. Plus, I like stock Android, and Pixel isn't an option for me. I play alot of games that have static HUD elements, and the burn-in I get from AMOLED displays irritates me. This is literally the only phone with a stylus, stock Android, and no AMOLED. So if I want a stylus phone that fits what I need, this is it.

@Love Never Fails HUD is heads up display, in video games. But for a screen, functionally, any static display elements. AMOLED doesn't have a backlight. Each pixel produces it's own light, and dims from use. So uneven wear on the subpixels from static elements causes "burn in", a phenomenon where you see faint images of what was on the screen. Usually, navigation bar, keyboard, and other stuff like that.

just got mine today. I thought the box must have been opened because there was no stylus in the box. Had I not seen this video, I would have never known it was inside the phone itself. (LOL; I'm so low tech). This is a step up for me. My last phone was a Samsung Galaxy S4 that lasted 5 years and before that I had an LG volt for $35 that was my first smartphone. Very nice real world walk through review. It's good to see an unbiased review that doesn't tear apart a nice device that's extremely affordable compared to most competitor offerings. As a longtime gadget enthusiast. I've had several Motorola phones which performed well overall. After seeing my Note 10+, My wife wanted to try a device with a stylus, and didn't want to drop major coin on another Note right now. I'm looking to replace my old LG Stylo 3Plus with this one. Can anyone tell me if it has any type of text message notifications while the screen is shut like the old LED notification? Some phones will only show a notification when it comes in but if you don't happen to look at the phone at that time you won't know you've got a message until you open the screen. Does the Moto G Stylus have any form of repetitive notifications for text messages while the screen is shut? Thanks for the help.

I came to this from a LG Stylo 5. I really don't care about the camera so that means little to me. But my real gripe is that the keyboard will float &/or go to handwriting only without my intending it to. I usually buy them for what they allow me to disable more than what I will use. So far OK. I'm finding a much longer battery life than I expected. It was one offered for substantially low price when I was forced to change because carrier dropping 3g/4g. Just now getting used to gestures. Really liking the flashlight action. Used to fumble but now easy to find my way to door in dark to let dog out. And when she starts whining, you've only got 1-2 minutes.

@salokin G More like Android fanboys whining about the 4.7 inch screen on the new SE. Everything else on that phone is good or excellent: battery life, performance, camera, speaker and call quality, haptics, touch ID etc, iOS (software updates and overall snappiness). The new SE is the phone "everybody" wanted, which is basically an iPhone at a more reasonable price. I will admit that the 4.7 inch screen feels a bit small for watching videos in bed (speaking from experience using an iPhone 7). But on the go it's a blessing as you can use the phone one-handed and it nicely fits in the pocket. And the button placement is perfect! However, the Moto G stylus is half the price of the iPhone SE, and I refuse to call the SE a "budget" phone at close to 500€ in my country. You get a serious phone from Xiaomi or Realme for that money. The SE looks like a cute toy in comparison.

I love the portrait wide angle of taking your video=equels to being able to get a wide angle videos with your phone being at its tallest angle, such as concerts or over the fence videos. ;)

I liked that phone except when a glitch caused a notification light to stay on (which I didn't even know was there) for over a month. Big fan of Corning's Gorilla Glass :)

Motorola has always been great. One thing is as with any chipped gadgets, refrigerators, TV's, phones...is it takes long days to figure out how to use all the functions. Kids figure things out cuz they have nothing better do with their time since they dont work.

You are very confused. It is a PASSIVE stylus. One YT reviewer said that "palm rejection" was very poor; it is possible that there is none. This is a budget phone.

This has been a tradition with phone storage issues, in history if computer, we alway had 3 storage units, the internal comp, an added drive, plus another drive, its because you needed to shuffle files without sparing space in the drives, this is the same issues where SD cards, they need to be at least two champer areas in a phone to factually be a computer as well

I got the power the phone is great. The screen has a blue tint to it but easy fixed with an app for $2.50. I grab this phone more often then my Samsung s20+ $1200 phone by the way. Just works well camera is good and love the stock Android feel nice video. You hit all the points that matter.

You don't have one way to open the phone. You can also put in the access code. U can skip the fingerprint access but it works unbelievably good at least on mine.
