This phone has got to be one of the best underrated, dark horse phones coming out this year , quietly underneath the main ones like Samsung and Apple ,..with good flagship specs and good durability.. been waiting for a phone like this in while ..know the only thing missing is the classic headphones 🎧 Jack that the traditional Moto phones carry but I can always hookup some USBC cable headphones instead . . .being water dust and drop ☔ with gorilla glass is a standard for any durable phone ..I'm in 😅.great Review Flossy 👍🤳 thank you .been a long time Motorola and Google Pixel fan ..nice to see that Motorola and Google are still competing hard with the big boys of Samsung and Apple ... 👍

Peak display reminds me that Google should bring back Soli for phones. Having an always on display that turns off based on distance from your phone is something that is just a smart use of tech that just works when needed

Bought one 1 month ago and i love it, the design looks cool and built to last and the performance is rly good too. Its such a good all around phone for such a low price and the charger that comes with it is massive. I highly recommend putting a tempered glass screen protector on it since it has a plastic oled for increased durability and versatility. But it can get scratches a little easier but can be prevented easy for just a few dollars.

Just bought one of these and your review helped seal the deal. Moto/Lenovo have some work to do on customer experience but the device, it's great. The cameras are a little worse than I expected but I don't care. I've grown beyond what my S22 Ultra can do anyway - time for a big boy camera for flexing my photography anyway. Maybe pickup a Ricoh GR IIIx or a Fuji X100V. I worked as a field rep/trainer for Samsung for 9 years - I had every Samsung Galaxy and Note device. And maybe that's the problem for me - Sammy just isn't pushing for the pro user - and hasn't for some time. There are so many things I could go off on. Ready For is really really something. If you are a Windows user and want AirDrop - ready for or maybe using the Edge browser with their drop feature - are as close as you are going to get. I miss some things...... but they aren't deal breakers for me. The gallery app (nested folders/albums, top notch editing), the file manager (clean, fast, cloud connected and NAS support), Samsung Pay with it's edge panel swipe up to pay from any screen locked or unlocked, and how easy it is to show a membership card while you are ready to tap to pay. Not having to carry a notebook and pen...... but I won't have to be reminded about how close the SPen and Samsung Notes are..... but fall short (for me anyway). The Edge panel is superb and Moto's version is..... not as good - but it's workable. The most interesting thing about having the ThinkPhone - is how damn fast it is when multiasking. No way there is this much difference between the Snapdragon Gen1 vs the Gen1+. I thought I needed more RAM - nope - I have loaded up the ThinkPhone will all my stuff and it's pushing the RAM - only has 2GB free at any one time - but it never burps/farts/lags when swtiching apps, multi window or pop-up window. I'm a ThinkPad fan boi and love the design - can't believe no other manufacturer figured out they could use aramid fibre for the back and keep wireless charge. If Moto/Lenovo upgrade the cameras to the Edge+ 2023, this might be a perfect phone. If Moto winds up reading this - B2B users don't need 5 cameras. A primary shooter, f/2 (anything wider has too shallow a depth of field) and an ultra wide. The 2MP sensor - is it really needed? I think it's just there to say it's a tripple camera setup. One thing I noticed - the main shooter is also the ultra wide - which explains some artifacting. I'd rather have a dedicated Ultra Wide and a primary shooter. UltraWide for when taking pics of tradeshows, or being too close to a whiteboard, primary shooter for everything else - who cares about portrait mode? I have no issues with the Selfie Camera.

I don't have that kinda money to spend on a phone but I'll be thinking about it in a year or so when they hopefully will go way down. 💯 I read about this device a few months ago and as a ThinkPad fan I was like 😮 I really want to ditch my S22 Ultra for something new and not iOS - only because I've had Samsung for 9 years and every note except the 3 I am disappointed in the lack of progress/innovation in pro/ultra features. Sammy has done nothing with air command, off screen memory or Samsung notes in ages. Better integration with other first party apps is what I'm looking for. Only calendar I can attach Samsung notes is the local calendar - not even the Samsung account calendar can. Ridiculous. I should be able to go between my Tab S7 and my S22 Ultra and not miss a beat Maybe I'll carry a notebook and use evernote to keep my penmanship skills up. I really like this thinkphone

Do you ever access developer setting? I peek in there to make all my apps able to use the minimize (bubble mode) feature. Idk if you unlocked the mode before but it's done by repeatedly tapping the "build number" title until it says unlocked. Then it will be at the bottom of settings

I have the edge plus 2022 and I'm upgrading because the battery is bigger, it has a better look, it's smaller, it's rugged, it has the programmable button, it has in display fingerprint scanner, the power/volume buttons are lower and easier to get too, brighter display annndddddd ✨ for some reason the moto edge + 2022 does not allow 5g connectivity through ATT ✨. So yeah it's definitely different for a Motorola enthusiast, but looking from the outside they're pretty similar

As for a Galaxy phone, there's wayyy too much un-deletable crapware on those phones, and a requirement to create a Samsung account so they can mine your contacts etc. The ThinkPhone has a few Motorola utilities to enhance Android, not replace Android with a completely different UI.

I returned my Bell Mobility Google Pixel 8 Pro after a week. (Not saying it is not good , just was not impressed for the price). For the first time I bought a phone myself , not via a contract with a carrier. ***The ThinkPhone*** it works in Canada as well . I paid US 399$ on Amazon Motorola Store . I m not saying the large player like Samsung or Apple don't have good phones , I just love buying anything non-Samsung or Apple. My first though was the 1st Galaxy , then I got htc One , then Moto X , then htc 10 . If it was not for the 5g network i would still use my htc 10 . then I try Motorola Z3 play which i liked all the implements you can add on like the projector. jumped to a Moto G Stylus 5G , worst buy for me. then got the pixel 8 Pro ...

I have mine since January. Best purchase in a while. 1 1/2 day battery life. Monthly security updates and I love Motorolas Ready For system. Only "slight" complain is that Motorola hasn't fixed the 4k recording stutter issue when you start a 4k recording. (it stutters the first couple of seconds) but overall I would consider it a a good buy. But accessories are rare to find, there isn't much online available not even by the biggest players like Spigen, UAG, Supcase itc so be aware if Ou wanna buy a case. The flimsy plastic case in the package is worthless. Motorola replaced mine three times before I threw it away, and bought a clear case.

Do you feel it's tough enough so it can be used without a case ? Will the back hold up?

@@eddierubio2796 Nah, wouldn´t use it without a case, if you get a good one in the first place. Just checked and accessory situation aint different to when I had the phone. The lack of support from accesory maker was the reason I gave the device back. You can´t even get a decent screen protector and I´m not even talking about a case. That "shell" that was included in the paclage is worthless, motorola replaced it 3 times in 5 weeks. Whiole the phone itself is actually great, there is virtually zero quality accessory available for it. So if your were a suit you can use it without a case. (like i did) if you were anything else, get another phone.

I got the little brother to the ThinkPhone back in december, the Moto Edge Plus 2022. I enjoy it, I do want to swap out tho. I am looking at swapping it for the Pixel Fold. The issue I have with the phone and its only one issue, its a little big for me. I am a bigger guy buy I like to use my phone on the move one handed its for sure is a two hand phone. Otherwise its not bad at all.
