Mabey you can help me with a problem I have. The problem I have is when I try to read my xts 3000, I get a small box screen that says quote: "motorola cps open radio failed error context 24 status c000039e". Please respond back to me asap with a solution on how to fix this problem

What type of connecting hardware are you using? Do you have a functional driver installed for that hardware? Did you assign a COM port that isn't being used by some other device?

@@JakeLehmann im using a 9 serial port Connection based programming cable. Dont think i need drivers for that unless the programming cable is usb right?

@@Anne14881 the only way you can connect this model to CPS without using a USB to serial converter of some variety is as follows: 1. With an old desktop computer containing a dedicated serial port and either, A. Running a version of windows that's supported by the most recent release of CPS or, B. The CPS version that was in circulation when the radio was manufactured or, C. that corresponds with the firmware edition currently installed on the radio. There are very few situations that would require such a setup. It sounds like you don't have all the necessary hardware. Other factors that prevent CPS from reading a device... Make sure you have the most recent CPS release, that the radio is powered on while performing the read, and that the port your selecting matches the port you have assigned to the device. Everytime you run CPS I would restart windows first and make sure your not running any other applications. Motorola has designed this software to only function if it is updated to the most recent software version.

Man radio reference hates this radio. If you wanna be cussed out ask them about this model lol. Not sure what the big deal is.. not everyone that wants a police scanner is a criminal.
