I just bought a brand new Hanway, only they're badging them as "Hanley" for some reason. Great little bike, a whole lot better than I ever thought a Chinese import would be. For a little under 2K (Shop around, it pays off) I got a really nice little ride. 80mpg I reckon. Looks nice, sounds nice, rides well, proper sturdy feel to it too.

I have the bullit hero myself and I have to say it's a great looking bike, certainly original (where I live you see alot of sinnis apaches and the like) I've got it up to 71mph according to my GPS but it sits comfortably at 65 no problems and I mainly uses it for city commuting for work anyway, and so far no machanical issues to report.

I just got mine today, and she is all I've expected and much more. The giant front wheel is a bit tricky at curving, but one gets the hang of it. On the other side, that giant front wheel doesn't slides, it's really comfortable on the bumps, and very very safe on the front breaking, and the assisted braking isn't that bad either. It's just pure raw fun and entertainment as you commute amidst those sad sad driver's faces.

Can you help me? I like the look of the bullit very much. But I am 1,95m (6,4 feet) tall and I am concerned the bullit hero might be too small for me. Is the bullit big enough for me or would you recommend to select a bigger bike like the KSR TW125 oder Honda Varadero?

Hi, replied to other comment...
@roythearcher
@roythearcher 6 жыл бұрын
Out of the two, the Bullit looks more the part with its higher ground clearence and the high level exhaust. The smaller fuel tank is consistant with competition aspirations but I suspect its all for appearances only, whereas the Hanway looks more like a road bike with the lower seat hight and exhaust down by the rear pegs. The larger fuel tank is more useful on the road too...I'm not too sure about the smoke out of the exhaust though....Hope thats just steam!...

I’m going for the Hanway. Looks like Steve McQueen could jump barbed wire on the Hanway. The Hero is a Sinnis, Lexmoto that’s been modified but it looks odd. The seat gap looks odd, it’s a trail bike really.
@motorsforthemasses
@motorsforthemasses 6 жыл бұрын
Hi, yes I see your point with the trail bike comparison; although to be honest; the Hero would be easier for McQueen to jump I feel with that massive swingarm, monoshock and suspension travel...and it encourages a standing position for the launch! lol

Good question! I think it depends on style choice and how tall you are. The Hero seemed more stable at slower speeds, although the gear change was further away. Perhaps the Hanway would be more user friendly for a beginner; just be mindful of the balance at slow speeds.

I actually went across the Pyrenees on a Hanway Scrambler last summer. We did it all basically off-road, or avoiding the tarmac as much as possible, and had an absolute blast. But I'll admit, I would've wanted the extra height (poor Hanway's exhaust...) and what looks like a punchier engine from the Bullit.

Is that the lowest the mono shock on the Hero will go? Seems like you get a much better bike with the Hero for another £300. But the height could be an issue for many.

Thank you so much for your answer!!! It encourage me and it's better for me to hear that because it difficult to buy a bullit in Switzerland.. I am in love with the hispter but the sound of the bullit give something else.. again thank you for taking time for my question. Wish you the best.
@motorsforthemasses
@motorsforthemasses 6 жыл бұрын
No problem. The Bullit feels it may need a little time to get used to ride easily whereas the Mondial feels very much a 'get on and go' bike....no period of getting used to it necessary! Good luck with your choice.
@TOTk1980
@TOTk1980 6 жыл бұрын
I however am not keen on the riding position of the Mondial and i would need a period of time to get used to it and if given the choice between the Mondial, Hero or the Hanway would definitely go for the bullit Hero but i would have it as low as it will go.

Could you please make a quick comparison between the mondial and hero. I am about to get my second 125 and I want something with a bit more torque, looks good, fast, improves my riding, practical and lastly am about 5 ft 9. Thank you.
@motorsforthemasses
@motorsforthemasses 6 жыл бұрын
Hi, I think that would personally be an unfair comparison as they are very different style bikes. One is a tall scrambler whereas the Mondial is more of a lower Cafe style scrambler
@ojonugwaekele4325
@ojonugwaekele4325 6 жыл бұрын
Motors for the Masses No offence but I can see they are different style bikes and the whole point of this exercise was to get your "opinion" because you have ridden both bikes... Maybe I shouldn't have used the word "compare" but as mentioned earlier based on practicality, torque, looks, height etc which is a better bike?
@motorsforthemasses
@motorsforthemasses 6 жыл бұрын
OK, fair enough. The mondial is easy to ride. 130 kg, you can whip it into corners without any hassle. The tyres hold the road superbly and you feel very confident in the dry and wet. The stance is quite upright although the foot position is more sports bike. The hero is a tall bike, sounds great, feels taller and is a little notchy on the slow turning. The Hero however would give more confidence offroad and the Mondial moreso on road. If I had to choose between the 2; I would have the Mondial for road use and the Hero for fun off road.

To be honest I would have both. The spirit for road riding, low down, corner hugging fun and the Hero for offroad, country lane fun.

@@aaronkerridge I assume you mean the AJS Tempest Scrambler? Now that is a tough one. I love both of them. I would say the AJS is better to ride on the road than the Hero, due to its tyres vs centre of gravity balance, although it really just comes down to getting used to the ride style. Off road, they are pretty equal, although the AJS feels more retro whereas the hero is more of a race style scrambler, both pretty equal in terms of fun.

You looked to be seated better on the Bullit, it looked more comfortable a riding position in fact the Bullit suited you better.

Just been down to my local dealer to view a few of these 125cc bikes , including the mutt mongrel, and the ajs. First viewing of all these bikes , and all so totally different in real life. The bullit hero is truly outstanding though and definately a well made , well designed absolutely cracking bike. A complete no brainer.

Practicality and style I would prefer the Hero, being 6’4” i think I would be very cramped on the Hanway with that low seat and high pegs I probably would hit my knees every time I’m trying to make a turn

It took about a week... American here, and I need a commuter for work. Kinda anti-big government, like to keep my needs local, and never needed a license. Wanted to keep it that way, and was looking for a 50cc scooter, or moped. Stumbled on little Chinese Grom clones, and got excited. Then I saw one of these retro scramblers, probably a Hanway, I just went to search "retro scramblers 50cc" as soon as I saw it. Found the Hero, and tried my best to look at all the options, instead of just going with the prettiest one. Which just led me back to the Hero, and now I just gotta have one. So turns out I DO need a moped license for a moped. Okay, fine. Also a moped cannot shift...oh...but a motorcycle can't be 50cc and under... So fuck it, I'm sold, I'll get the damn motorcycle license, and get the racing colors 125, became it's the sexiest thing I'm willing to spend money on. 😁 I'll come back when I decided which arm I wanna keep for shipping. 😝

I have just got myself a Hanway scrambler,I have only put 100 miles on it so far,it rides like a dream for what it is,when I’ve had for a few months I will do a short term review on it,and let you know how it is,but for the price,at this time I have no complaints,it is what it is,a commuter bike with a bit of style,if you want to know about the size of the bike,I am 6ft3 and it fits great,due to the riding position.so it’s a good bike for shorter & taller riders.off road,it is very well planted,mild green lane riding,if there are any questions I can help anyone with,please ask and I will answer as honestly as I can,ride safe and have fun.

It really fits well on you? Because I am same height as you and I'm interested in hanway. How does it perform on road?
@jasonclarke7422
@jasonclarke7422 6 жыл бұрын
Vejunas it performs really well on road,when I first rode the bike I thought that the front end felt a bit stiff, but after putting just over 400 miles on it,I think I would use the term,more planted and stable,probably due to the large front tyre and wide handlebars,I don’t regret buying the bike,it really is what 125cc are about affordable fun.

I'd love to sit on it and feel does it fits my height, but I can't because there is no dealerships in my country :/ My biggest doubt is does it fits? I would be more than glad if I get an opportunity to see how bike looks with tall guy.

A 250cc Hero would be loads better as a winter hack/second bike. Do they, or are they planning on making one?

Great video on 2 great looking bikes, but think I prefer the Mondial although it's a good bit more expensive. How do they compare to the Mondial to ride?
@motorsforthemasses
@motorsforthemasses 6 жыл бұрын
Hi, a very different riding experience. The Mondial is more feet back, lean forward and as such means you ride it more easily than either of the scrambler which have a traditional 90 degree leg position. The Mondial also feels more easily manoeuvrable and lighter on the front end.
