If solid state batteries are more energy dense, resilient to temperature change and charge faster, I do not think we will need EREV when they get here. Until then , EREV makes a lot of sense for rural cold weather drivers like myself.

I agree with a lot said here. Most new cars should be EV. Some should be EREV. ICE can be reserved for niche sports cars.

I wish them luck, but if they are betting on their own future advancement in batteries they might just be screwed. Glad to hear the recognition that hybrid is a bridge technology though. Oh also, with incentives, the Tesla model Y and 3 are already quite affordable and very easy to live with. After only driving electric for a year and a half I can honestly say that I have zero interest in going back

Why do all of the EV people ignore the inefficiency of generating the electricity used to charge EVs? Very little of the energy used to charge EVs (nationwide) comes from renewables. I am not an EV hater (I made my first EV 40 years ago) - just a realist.

Why bother watching if you can't be open minded about the future. It does appear to be EVs or you're not paying attention. Some places will transition sooner than other places in the US.

Statistical gas cars catch fire more often. Don't believe everything you watch on KZbin. Assuming it's not the fire trap you believe plugging in over night the EV can be preconditioned and how many days are -31F in MN?
