***** Yeah, the guy acts like this is the first Datsun or Opel or Mazda or whatever to get an American V-engine swap. The 4.3 Chevy V6 is basically a 5.7L "350" V8 with two cylinders lopped off. These guys were within the rules to be included in the event, so why does the announcer guy hate? I was waiting for him to say, after the "un-American" comment, something to the effect of: "But it has a 4.3 Chevy V6! An American motor!" Seems most announcers that I have ever heard usually accentuate the positive, with a dry sense of humor. This guy and his tech/safety lackey was just a Rotsun Hater from the get-go, it seems. But telling me I can't even show to the event up in the only car I have, is basically saying fuck you and the horse you rode in on because your horse isn't a mustang. I thought the love of cars was the love of CARS!! All I'm saying is, I'm a grown man that's likes CARS not car companies. German, Italian,American i don't give a fk. The really disappointing thing about the announcer is how he represents modern "hot rodding" as a whole. These people dont realize that the whole reason hot rodding was started was just to go fast. It wasnt supposed to be pretty. It wasnt supposed to be "correct." The goal was to go fast with what they had. Look at Carol Shelby. He is a speed-god, and I can just about garuntee most these Rotsun haters would get on their knees for Mr. Shelby. And what did he do? He stuffed an American V motor in a foreign sports car. So how are the roadkill guys any different? The announcer and the rest of haters are "unamerican" for disrespecting the combination of cultures in the pursuit of speed.

Averaged 110 mph, slalomed past the few other vehicles like they were standing still. Pulled over in the desert and slept in the back with the lift gate open as nightfall set in after partaking of a hooter under the mooonlight. Completed the journey the next morning. Skied like a maniac and headed back the net day. Never overheated once. How I survived that madness is a mystery to this day. What wouldn't I give to have one today powered with a nice compact turbo V8. I'd have loved to see this car with a nice clean paintjob on it, but that wouldn't be in keeping with the Road Kill ethos haha.

The irony is, those guys will say late model Camaros are all-American, which is a total lie. When they learn that they're mostly made in Australia, the song "How Could This Happen To Me" starts playing in their head.
@NFreund8 жыл бұрын
+CamryXLE They are made in Canada. To be exact, in Osahwa, where they also build pretty much everything from GM. But it was engineered in Australia...so basically, it's a Holden.

14:55. I am not impressed by the behavior of these "Goodguys". Why did he have to approach them in a standoffish way? I do give kudos to Finnegan though, because the joke about the race gas already evaporated away was witty. I was surprised there was not a confrontation. And the comment made 17:36 ("Well at least you didn't get lost") was backhanded and dickish too.

Those people are the worst kind of people. We have them here in Sweden as well. American cars is the only "real cars" to them... Then they show up at local car meets and talk shit about all the tuners and Volvos. Until a 5 cyl, 800 hp Volvo 245 wagon beats their heavy v8 in a dragrace. Then they leave after throwing beer bottles everywhere.. Assholes.
@declan27758 жыл бұрын
Viking88 those people are cunts! I like American muscle but I'd never do that! Btw - I went to Sweden, and everywhere I went there was at least one classic muscle car, why is that?
@fatfuckhatesyou8 жыл бұрын
Declan Van Den Hoek Most people like old American cars here, not just douchebags. And we import 7-8000 classics each year because of that reason. Why it's so popular I have no idea. Guess people really like the looks. I only own one American car, a 1974 F-350 Crew cab. A giant pick up truck I use for work.

Used to own a 1971 Z car, bone stock. Drove it from Ontario Calif up Highway 395 to Mammoth Mountain for spring skiing back in the day. What wouldn't I give to have one today powered with a nice compact V8.

I know right? I remember being 3 to 23 in my hometown and my friends dad had a 240 ( or a 280 I cant remember, maybe a 260 ) and it would sit in their driveway, my friends dad ( Ill call him K ) K had told me he had owned the car since his senior year in high school and told me it was like another son to him. I remember asking K if he was ever going to fix it and he said he wasn't sure seeing as life kept getting in the way, and there was multiple times I told him I could fix it for him if he had the parts but he declined every time. Sadly I went to a get together with my friend to his parents house ( back when I was 29 )and the car was gone, I asked K what had happend to it and he said the fucking city towed it away to what he believed to be a junkyard. After that my friend tells me K had been just really depressed and still kinda is but K had found a "replacement" for it which happens to be a nismo 350, which he regularly gets maintained so I guess in the end things didn't turn out to bad.
