Love my magnum and 205 in my jeep, only complaint is it runs a bit hot on long highway jaunts. I just change the oil often and use good oil

Could someone please explain me Americans obsession with the automatic gearbox? In Europe every race car and offroad 4x4 is built with manual.
@soldierski16692 жыл бұрын
The popularity with Automatics comes from post WWII where the USA 🇺🇸 was able to afford the luxuries. Automatics weren't "normal" till late 60s. Europe didn't do as well with becoming "wealthy" after WWII and continued on with manual trasmissions that are cheaper. Simply Europe and other nations just became accustomed to the manual.
@charlesfollette96922 жыл бұрын
Modern auto transmission’s are faster shifting than a manual, there’s that aspect. That being said I still feel that a manual makes you a better driver in any application
@Shakshuka692 жыл бұрын
Almost every 4x4 that dirt every day built was a manual. These tater tots are here to appeal to the boomer generation that is largely responsible for the decline of the manual transmission in the US.

Today auto or double clutch are way infinitely sportier and more adjustable than our beloved dinosaurus manual, BUT, you have to consider the difference in roads we in Europe had/have tiny roads were you had to shift down to keep the engine happy; in USA they did not have this issue so a fast acceleration/up shift was king and the average man was not faster than an auto except for Mr 4 speed (Bruce MC Candels [sorry for the miss spell]). That's why no obsession just different needs

This being said a thing I would never have on my off road car is a clutch

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Some will like this build and some wont.... 🤷🏽♂️

But Chevy built a 5.3 Colorado 4x4 in that body style. I worked at a dealer when they came out. I’ve only seen two.

LS LS LS LS . . . boring. Why not build an Atlas engine?
@reece72592 жыл бұрын
I thought the same thing! Build a 4200 atlas from a trailblazer, even tho it's an Inline 6 it still makes the same power as the 4.8 v8
