Only deaf people who hard time to communicate with cops, like deaf people from other country and their learning english. It is good for them to have that card. For deaf people who communicate well, cops who refused to understand or communicate by pen and paper. It will difficult for cops to take his job.
@Joshietheman15 жыл бұрын
@frozenassets97 It wasn't hard at all to get license. It was done like it was nothing. When I went for driving, I had warned the cop who sat in my car passenger seat and he has agreed to write few index cards and any time he needs me to go where he wants me to go, he'd bring it up and show it to me and then I follow it. And passed it with 95 percents.=]

They should also provide a sticker for the rear of the car cos they way cops are these days I can see" the driver reached for something and I was in fear of my life. That's why I shot the person 26 times." Just do a search on youtube and you can see 100's of incidents with that.
@lookingup828 жыл бұрын
Ankles wait for officer directions. putting visor under visor the officer can still see your hands. Police are trained to be very careful around moving hands. even reaching under the seat for writing paper could be dangerous.Get a card and wait on officer's directions. Yu could gesture "write."
@lookingup828 жыл бұрын
Ankles many deaf DONT WANT A STICKER. Often makes them vulnerable to others who.may do them harm. Many feel it's not safe.BUT MANY are fetting their cars and home addresses "flagged"- saying Deaf personowner(of the xar), or Deaf people live(at the house address). That is new and hasn't caught on well yet. Hopefully, some signal just seen by 911 operator or dispatcher can alert Police AND FIRE DEPT of Deaf family members,etc.

Charles Johnson thats motor week. there are captioned versions that have een uploaded. check Motor Week site. and Visor Card. I know a lot about the development of this card . Charles County Police and the local Deaf community all had input. one side of the card istelling the office how to communicate(no flashlughts in a Deaf persons face, they wont even see your gestures. and other side id for Deaf person. put vison on lower side of window touchkng the door, not in the middle of the window. It tells the Deaf driver to wait for officer's directions. make sure he knows you're Deaf before searching for paper, pen. Now peopke use texting to communicate. Technoligy is catching up. But no sudden hand movements. In police Culture that's DANGER so you can see how things could go wrong!

Man, people can be ignorant. Deaf does not mean incapable of making intelligent decisions, lack of focus and awareness of surroundings. Of course, being deaf you can drive maybe even more competently than others due to having to consistently be aware of their surroundings which requires a lot of focus.

Wow...is that joke or what... all you need give paper & pen.. most cops have common senses to realize you can not speak or hear whatever ..plus keep in legal mind you OWN paper & pen where you can use em against em in case legal shit occurs...
@lorrainedusseau57605 жыл бұрын
This is good because deaf move hands. Cops want have hands still. There's an interpreter number area, a huge head on conflict, and they got an interpreter at accident scene. (I've been called on accidents twice in 2008....and many since)
