Someone needs to invent a plug end that emulates the voltage signal oscillations of the o2. Then you can install a swapable pipe in and just install the cat for inspections 👍

something a shop would need to do but... Tack Weld rebar along the pipe where it would normally get cut to make it super hard to easily cut the pipe quickly. Likely cost $50-$100 but can save you thousands.

No they don't they take battery-operated sawzalls and cut them off last month over here they stole over 400 catalytic converters

Simple cure would be for bounties to be established to catch these thieves in the middle of their act. Bounty would allow for the suspect to be roughed up with immunity granted.

A car alarm with a tilt sensor seems like the best way to prevent theft.

Most places car alarm sounds are useless, and in fact can generate additional damage by someone angry at the constant sounds by throwing a rock into your windshield.

People: don't spend that kind of money, just have a shock sensor installed to your alarm, set it to high and Everytime it senses movement, vibration will trigger the alarm

The trick is to drive a 1995 Monte Carlo, which is low enough that it would take some time to get under it.

Tip number one open your web browser go to performance site of choice order some good quality coil overs step two install coilovers and slam that ride step there teach yourself how to properly drive that slammed car enjoy. Bonus install cameras and laugh when they realize they need 1x4's and some 2x4's plus some ramps and your ignition keys plus a jack just two get started if they do get your converter they earned it and they probably have your tv to

Having the founder of RockAuto talk about theft prevention of catalytic converters is pretty much a conflict of interest. Why would he give tips on theft prevention for products he sells? The more that get stolen, the more money he makes. Probably why he was so vague about it and offered a less than effective solution. In fact, tying a live porcupine to your catalytic converter just may be more effective. Better yet, try a hornets nest.
