Interesting how the title says that this is a 1996 review but part of the footage at the Lamborghini factory indicates that those segments may have been shot some years earlier. At 1:57 a purple Diablo SE30 Jota can be spotted as well as a standard Red Diablo SE30 at 2:20, which leads me to believe it may have actually been around 1993/4 as production for the SE30’s was halted in favor of the new Diablo SV in 1995.

Still was an end of an era for me with Lamborghini before VW owned.. They still had that signature inonic Lambo lines that have gone a little too out there the last 15 years or so. Hopefully they return to their roots. Ferrari and Porsche found a way to modernize and change their body style Y/Y without abandoning what made them iconic in the first place. Then again, maybe it is just my opinion and it isn't shared by many others and new Lambos are just as sexy as those of old

@nsxt2907 жыл бұрын
ah yes safety :/ Today's pedestrians text and walk or don't even look both ways when crossing the road, earphones in their ears or start crossing the road whenever they feel like it. So , I think the car deserves the pop headlamps given our careless pedestrians ( & drivers who drive like idiots).
@95steeptech7 жыл бұрын
Omar Qureshi haha. I don't disagree with you. Just explaining the reasoning behind it.
@jayvette89367 жыл бұрын
Not only pedestrian safety, but also pop ups do actually have quite an effect on aerodynamics. Not to mention the electric motors needed to raise them are just another part to break and add unneeded weight. We have the technology now to have aerodynamic LED headlights, so pop ups are just too complex and outdated to use anymore.
@nukemanmd6 жыл бұрын
They were trouble prone. Cool looking yeah, until the actuator failed and you wound up with misaligned headlights or no headlights. Then, you'd have to manually crank open the headlights. Also, when extended, they impaired air flow-a factor for a supercar.

"Ultimate Diablo" - did they forget a year before they made the better-looking and faster RWD 595 BHP Diablo SE30 Jota? Even the SE30 had 523 BHP and that roadster they mention I've read elsewhere as having a top speed of only 180 MPH instead of the 202 MPH - 208 MPH most of the other Diablos had.
