We were battling with a double step, a few days ago and this explains it perfectly, I was overdoing it on the first and the front was slamming to the ground before I had chance to keep the front up for the second step. Looking forward to trying this again now with different approaches! Thanks again for the brilliant explanations Pat! 👍👍👍

I'm planning a KZbin review of the top trials training channels and was going to include yours. Screen recording for a short duration and giving all credit to your channel to plug your work. I appreciate what you've giving back to the sport and learned so much from consuming your videos. Let me know if you're alright being included in this please. Cheers mate

Tiny video nit: you have an overlay that says "copyright 2019" which should be updated to 2021
@PatSmage2 жыл бұрын
Good catch! It should actually be 2020 as it was shot and originally published last year. Must have copied from an older project while in a rush, whoops!

I cannot understand how the algorithm is still keeping you from so many more subs... I hope that changes soon for ya, in the meantime, thanks to you and your better half for the great content. Also, I've noticed that your advice often includes slipping the clutch here and there for control... Does this mean that you're rebuilding them often?
@PatSmage2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! The KZbin game is a tough one to figure out so I don’t expect too much out of it at the moment. You have to constantly slip the clutch riding trials, but the clutches can take it so no need to change plates very often.

KZbin rewards very regular uploads as well as likes and interaction (comments). I daresay liking and commenting on as many uploads as Pat can manage will help him gain more recommendations. Don't forget to share his videos with like-minded friends :-) Hi Pat, great video as always *waves*

Interesting, I never do that on other videos so maybe it’s worth a shot. Thanks for the tip!

@@PatSmage My only other suggestion is to join the KZbin army and request at the end of each video "if you enjoyed the video or found it helpful, hit the thumbs up and please consider subscribing or sharing the video with like-minded friends, thanks!"... A lot of people nowadays have the attention span of gnats and just click onto the next video if they're not reminded :-P

Is there some tips when it's better to use first/second gear? I have just started riding trial and for me everything feels easer on the second gear. First is to short and everything should be way to quick. Is it typical for beginners? Thanks
@PatSmage2 жыл бұрын
There are some variables to which gear is best so I tend not to bring it too much unless it’s important in a certain situation. Even down to the bike, each brand has slightly different gearing and sometimes it changes gear to gear. It is personal preference in certain situations too since a lot can be done in 1-3 gears. Newer riders do have a tendency to run 2nd more as it can be a smoother feeling power, but it can also get away from them when it’s tight and it’s harder to control. It’s best to try both when practicing even if you think one is better than the other. Somethings the obstacles before or after a certain spot will determine which gear you need to use even if it’s not ideal for every spot. Hope that helps! Practice practice practice.
