I would still try a bigger carb , definitely need smaller rear sprocket, and the idle sounds little fast for that type of engine to me. Freaking love it and have wanted to build one like that for about 3 years now
@honeybadgeractual57348 ай бұрын
Surely you meant a larger front sprocket, or a smaller rear sprocket to achieve a longer ratio instead of a taller ratio on the final drive. He likely has a 12T or a 14T tops out front, and a 60T rear, he needs the 45T rear and a 17T front.

That generic gy6 harness may need brake lights & brake switch in order for the start solenoid to work. Close the circuit at the brake light & brake switch if you don’t plan on adding them 12v ignition -> brake switch -> brake light -> start button -> starter relay/solenoid.
@matthewf19798 ай бұрын
Every sharp bend in a tube is an effect decrease in diameter. Straightening out the intake/exhaust will give you more power and require larger jetting.

Cool video! I've been thinking about buying one of those engines and fitting it to a mini bike. You can buy them for a little over $300. That's probably less than what I have in any clone engine I have
@drchan58937 ай бұрын
great video sir, I put a CB250 into a pit bike and it go's like a rocket, it's bloody dangerous being so small and having so much power no matter what gear your in it will try and throw you off. you can lower the motor and tilt it back it still works.

That thing came out sweet. I absolutely love the intake idea. Just flawless and the pipe? Just beautiful. I’ve been thinking about getting one of these engines. For 300$ that’s not bad at all. I bet a tillotson carb or a clone carb off a stihl 090 chainsaw would be a good substitute for your set up

@RainbowSheep_was_taken3 ай бұрын
@@kylen4791 yea bro im still designing. I am hoping to get it done like in a few months but the only problem is money. i need money to cast it, a lot of money, i cant cast at home but im planning to make 1 prototype at home for testing and marketing. Production will be in china and assembled in my home cuz its cheaper but the problem is chinese companies for casting have insanely high minimum order quantity, 100pcs or more, and lnly the mold costs 5000 usd. The quoted me 10k for 100pcs but im tryna find a cheaper option. Ill figure it out tho dont worry, im making tachometers for mini bikes, im hoping to sell them and make money for the gearbox.

@thegreatkrimpus6139 i havent tried crowdfunding yet, because i dont have everything fully designed yet, i am almost done i just need to do finishing touches on the clutch area. im going to cast 1 prototype at home or let some do it for a very expensive price for testing and marketing or whatever. then ill try crowdfunding or maybe sell the files to someone. money is the biggest limiting factor here

Just throwing this out here, been watching your channel for years now and the information from your builds helps us a lot. If you want to dial in maximum rpm and temps from carb tuning, try using a run leader tach and temp gauge to get the most out of the builds. I noticed that whenever my bike was too lean or too rich it wouldn’t hit its max rpm and didnt get the head up to temp
@justincuellar31017 ай бұрын
From a filter change to a velocity stack on my vm22, I lost 500 rpm alone and my motor was hiccuping, went from 54mph to 48 on my hisun 196, stock bottom end, stock springs with aluminum push rods, and a super 30 tq on a 40t. Bike definitely has more in it and was asking for more fuel
@justincuellar31017 ай бұрын
Good information for us stock rod guys, 6500 is our redline and with a tach we could do a mild budget build accordingly, stock springs keep me limited to 5500 and the pushrods should get me close to 6k, makes me want to run a very cheap mild cam just to get the right power band from 4-6, kinda neat running a torque converter cus the motor doesn’t want to rev itself to the sky from the parasitic load
