JT is one those rare sports people, talented, thankful for their achievements and respectful towards others in the sport. Nicky Hayden also comes to mind. Miss that guy. RIP.

Just a top bloke, met JT in Suzuka at the 8h, he was so friendly and talkative. This is a great account, well done Simon for sorting this.

Wife and I met him at a gig in 2005 I think, and we sat and chatted for ages about all things racing. He was just waiting to see if Chris Vermeulen was going off the Suzuki so he could bag the TenKate Honda ride which he did and the rest is history as they say. Top block, still have the signed poster from the gig. Great video, thanks Simon and James

A big reason for the drop off in spectators that JT eludes to is not helped by the ticket prices going up. £45 for sunday at WSBK donington park last year. To mirror other comments, JT is a top bloke, at WSBK donington in 2001 he gave me his gloves under the fence after his retirement in race 2, which, as an 11y/o, was incredible. met him again more recently at the Sheffield Children's Hospital easter egg ride, he supports it every year to raise funds! 10/10!!!!!

Wsbk has this race on the their top 25 and is available for free access during the COVID-19 pandemic. Interestingly many of the Best races described in this series is on that list, check it out.
