Tip for truffle hunters... Near to Motovun (about 1km away) is village Livade (visible at 05:28) and that is the place where they found bigest truffle in the world. Also in October and November there is presentation/licitation/degustation of all products of Istria including truffles.

Motovun je definitivno zanimljiv, ima odičan vidikovac i srednjovijekovne zgrade. ... Što se Rovinja tiče, morate probat šetnicu uz more koja ide do Kampa Polari. Predivna šetnica uz more :)

After WW2, there was an exchange of people and territory between Italy, and Yugoslavia, sometimes voluntary, sometimes less than voluntary, if you follow my train of thought. Andretti family decided that it would be better if they moved to Italy, and from there they made it to USA. Yeah, so Mario was born in Motovun. If it hadn't been for the Americans, Italy and Yugoslavia would have come to blows over land and territories. "Smarten up, both of you. Haven't you had enough?", said the Americans to Tito and to the Italians. Dad was sent to Istria by the Yugoslav People's Army (JNA), as a very young man, for a couple of years in late 1940's in preparation for a war with Italy. Nobody knew where he was, he couldn't tell his parents. Fortunately, nothing stupid happened.

Motovun is again another heaven, worth to visit! What a lovely town, fell in love with it after the first glance. 😊 In terms of truffles everywhere....do they have truffels toothpaste? 😂 Your kids are so cute when speaking, no matter if English or Croatian. 😍 8:32 lol....placing their dolls, stuffed animals and toys on the bed, claimng their places..hahaha..sweet! Well, it's always kinda holliday or a rest for my soul, watching your travels. Sarah, thank you for sharing your voyages with us! 🥰

Everything right, but thats Istria, don't mix it with Croatia... The worst thing to say is that Istria is Croatia, Slovenia or Italy, putting it inside national borders is like not telling the whole story, Istria is just Istria, it has its own flag, culture, way of living, for many people its dialect its a language, we speak Istrian not croatian..
