I want to share my personal experience with our fellow MW followers and team. I already own Maruti Hatchback and wanted to upgrade to Mid-SUV/MUV. Done detailed test drive in Creta, Venue, Sonet, Seltos, Ertiga, XL6, Nexon, Taigun, XUV 300 both petrol and diesel in Kia, Hyundai, Mahindra brands. I prefer diesel over petrol for better torque and mileage but most of brands stopped diesel. Finally i ended up with Seltos HTK - iMT for their refined Diesel engine with fully loaded features, great mileage and value for money. Their diesel engines are gem to drive.Though all brands have increased their cost still i believe Kia cars are value for money compared to other brands and value they are offering. some may question safety of kia and hyundai cars but need to think practicality and this is subjective and depends on the usage of car , at what speed we are driving. Basically i wanted to own indian brand like Tata, Mahindra but tata need to improve their overall outer body design, fit and finish, higher vibrations in engine. Mahindra XUV need to give a facelift in XUV 300 with improved interior and exterior with added features in 2022. Even in XUV 300 sporty FL version there is no improvement in their features and overall design. XUV 300 Pricing also need to work again example XUV 300 diesel starts at 16L on road. Example: Think of XUV 700 and BMW met with bigger crash but all of the lives gone.

I used 2 new petrol cars in past 10 years (3 years Maruti 800 & 7 years i20). Now I purchased new Venue sx diesel car for better mileage and sporty drive. I feel huge difference from petrol to diesel car usage. Long journey feeling comfort and driving enthusiastic.

Asir sir.. even xuv 700 has number of niggles..the screen itself shuts off..adas not working properly etc etc.but since Mahindra has successfully managed to create an impression of shortage ( actually due to lack of proper production capacity)...this has contributed to their demand despite it's niggles...as everyone desires a product which is hard to get.... Safari and harrier have lesser mechanical niggles compared to xuv700 but the main thing they lack is a 360 °camera and a proper petrol engine as you rightly pointed out..adas is not much of a use in our roads which lack proper markings..

Sir, I disagree with you in Safari and Harrier case. Yes, XUV700 had (has) niggles like Screen Freezing, ADAS niggles, brake pads etc and they were regularly updating it and now the better products are coming. Also the Production Capacity is around 6K units per month. But with Safari/ Harrier the issues are mechnical like Steering Vibrations, Brake pads wearing out too early, Engine noises etc with Screen Blackouts. Further making it worse is the service technicians and the system that are pretty much slow in problem solving.

Since the 1.5 BS6 CRDi is doing duty in Seltos, Sonet, Carens, i20, Venue, Verna, Creta, Alcazar etc the Parts availability and maintenance won't be an issue

for an odd reason, the recent Nissan event about X-trail & X-trail testing on Indian roads reminds me of Ford's exit. The rumor about ford's exit started in early 2020, they released a press note of not leaving India, launched Figo petrol Automatic, tested an ugly version Ecosport to prove the point but left all of it sudden.

Even Chevrolet Beat essentia and few other upgrades were showcased before the exit of Chevrolet few years back.. I felt such show cases are to grab the stock shares to sustain for some more days.. Magnite may not just be sufficient to run Nissan. Similar story for Renault!

As per an insider, Renault planned to release triber facelift at 2024. Triber tubro is a history. That engine make the car to have worst NVH levels. So no new engine options. But they are working on adding new features on 2024 facelift.

MW, you missed another big update on Toyota. Toyota confirmed next Gen Fortuner. This time it's huge update. When we booked Fortuner we received the news, new Fortuner will be built in same platform where Land Cruiser is built i.e. TNGA - F platform. The Wheelbase can be expected this time around 2850mm. It will be big in size, Diesel Hybrid can be expected, it will retain 2.8 FDTV Engine, but with higher tune. Completely new design both interior and exterior. It will start testing at 2023 and launch at 2024. But for India how it's possible since it will be a CBU if it's built in that platform since that platform is not available in India. Can you please clarify if this news is true and it's possible. I feel it's impossible coz then it will be CBU only and price can go up to 70L. I asked showroom personally, they say it's true, but didn't say about platform being built. But Hybrid is confirmed for next Gen Fortuner and 2024 launch is confirmed.

Bs6 diesel variants suits better if you travel on highways atleast once a week. If more city usage, then prefer petrol as diesel engines will get DPF warnings so often if driven regularly below 2000 rpm or 60kmph due to traffic conditions.
