My brother booked this in 2008 1st slot (1 lakhs promise) and bought 1st gen Nano yellow colour and it cost around 1.4 Lakhs after delivery. It was definitely a very good car and we had very much fun in chennai city , because if we were stuck in heavy traffic we did easily maneuverable in very small gaps between each cars like riding a bike 😂.Trust me, even we did move a whole house things were packed and dropped in a new home in just 5 trips on a half a day. We got a mileage of around 23.8 kmpl on a round trip from Chennai to Tiruvannamalai trip cruising at a speed of 60 to 80kms/ hour. Still my sister is riding this car at present and maintenance is very less. The negatives you feel is tiredness and engine rumbleness in long distance journeys, but shorter trips are still good in this Nano. Thanks for reviewing this.

Thanks for reviewing such an amazing product. I have 2013 Nano LX (price is 2.35L). Clocked 1.08 L kms till now. Max speed is 105 kmph. Still getting ~23 kmpl in highways. My family was hesitated when I buy this. I have chosen this because of tight budget. But, thank god, it was a wonderful journey with this car. I have taken this to all kind of terrains, did so many long drivers. Very effective car in cities. There is no need to do calculations while turning or roaming around bumper to bumper traffic. Thumb rule is.. "If an auto can enter, the nano will" :) Never made me disappointed.

If a car was getting rejected by people, it is not the issue with the people but with the car manufacturer. These are some of the negatives 1. The car’s initial price was 1lakh. Then it went to 2.5 2. Rear engine creates vibrations in the back seat and cause discomfort 3. This is strictly a city car. Doing long distance will never be pleasant as it has only 37bhp. Plus people were worried about safety because of fire related incidents 4. The people who have this car now mostly have another car in their house. This shows why people never wanted nano to be their only and one car. TRich people use it as a daily driver in cities instead of going in auto. Ironically, tata made this car for middle class. But it is the rich who bought this car as second or third car similar to the guy in this video. Most of the people in the comments are also proving the same.

We went to Kodaikanal from Nagercoil in Nano 2 years before. It was a awesome journey.. super comfort. Especially the leg room. One of my most memorable moments… moreover we got the mileage of 26 KMPL in that trip .

Nano is the best city car. My first Nano did 1,00,000 kms in 7 years. Costed 2.5lakh. Second Nano genx AMT costed 3.2lakh. Completed 42,000 kms still going on. Very easy to drive. To the owner bro. You can check boodmo for dash lock.

we also own a 2013 Nano, Drove 90k kms in it's first 4 years itself. Now the odo is 1.1 lakh kms. Backthen I waited for Diesel nano for more than 2 years before buying the car. Initial nano cars had so much quality issues, So I was expecting to use the car for 3 years and then sell it. But now the car is close to my heart. we rarely use the car now a days but still the car starts in a single crank even after a month of parking 😀

We had a 2011 model. It had run 55k when sold at 2020 with very good engine. Issue was with ignition and vehicle will stop somewhere. Replacing ignition coil/spark plugs-cables/ did not resolve the issue when my running was low. Service centre from Tata was not supportive like Maruti and they stopped having spares too. Spares don't last and small spare parts used to fail as it was built for budget. Eventually sold it for reliability issue and my running was also low with COVID.

I am using it for past 8 years, i like it for its space, driver seating position and milage. Kids also like it, since they can shift their place, as easy as possible, while playing on long trip.. also vomit resistance due to seating position, and less engine smelling.. ultimate my family members not allowing me to change this super nano car

We are a gang of 90's kids. In 2013 in our my friends gang one guy had a scooty pep of his sister's and other guy had a old pulsar whereever we go we use to hop on 2ppl in scooty and 3ppl in pulsar we use to travel but there was no much enjoyment. one fine day my friend's dad got retired n in retirement money they brought nano for him From then the fun started we use to go like 6 ppl in it very much fun it use to be..we use to share pocket money for petrol, spacious car, very fun it use to be.. but now everyone are grown up n married now all my friend's including me have suv's. but none meets each other due to there busy life.. old days are really a golden memory😊

Wonderful review 👍. I always knew that Nano's 2 cylinder engine resulting in an autorickshaw like clatter was its chief diterent. After watching this video I realise that putting that engine at the rear has compounded that problem. Anyway, it's RWD layout and a no bonnet silhouette I thought would be suitable for an EV. But again no one is going to pay close to 10lakhs for a Nano, isn't it ⁉️

The NANO had similar interior space as that of the wagonR and estilo of its time. At this point all major cities require such small cars as city cars. A separate segment is fully untapped in the 2 lakh to 5 lakh budget point as entry level cars are getting past the 5 lakh mark. Hope some manufacturers tap in the segment. There are a lot of hurdles in bringing such products as even the Qute is still not able to find dealership
