You mention Hilton, now a place name between Oslo and Gardermoen airport. There was once a farm called Hilton, and it is the farm name that has become the family surname that the descendants also carry in the United States. Paris Hilton is aware of where her last name comes from.

New subscriber and thinking off changing from my t7 to a PR7 because of the weight difference. I think i will test ride Arno's PR7 as ijmuiden is only a half hour drive for me. And Arno is always at the monthly offroad event i go to riding my T7. I liked watching your videos of this trip thanks for sharing! Anything you didn't like about the AJP? I saw you had some issues with the tablet, isn't it possible to put a better/faster tablet on it? Save travelling and keep the shiny side up! 😉

Hi there! If you are gonna use the bike mostly for the TET or something similar- PR7 is an awesome choice, but with the China companies coming up to the radar, that might not be for long. Having Arno in a short ride from you is a no-brainer. There are some things that are kinda getting under my skin with this bike. Tablet- total rubbish. And yes you can change to the Samsung Galaxy TAB Pro 2 or 3, or even 5. Or you can get from the Carpe Iter, or Thork racing one- that's what I'm looking at. But that makes me feel like I was kinda robbed :D Why do I have to pay for rubbish then buy a good one? Suspension gonna need to be tuned to your needs. Some small things like only one position for the rear brake and gear leavers, might be a little annoying. Another thing- it will be a Gold edition coming out in 2024. If you wanna have all the specs as mine, special edition one, with the Ohlins- you make sure you know that there is one gonna be available soon. Thanks for the sub and stay safe!

@@nemoltu i agree with you on the tablet thing. It's nice that it is on the bike but it should indeed be one of good quality from factory. The position of the brake and gear lever i need to find that out driving it. The Chinese bikes like the kove need some time on the market for me to try them out and to see how the after market/dealer network is going to be. AJP service seems good from different stories ive read and seen. And it seems that the PR7 has proven itself in reliability over the last years. Cheers for the fast reply! Stay save!

hi, one question about the metal oil screener. once i found a service video where this part is located on the right hand side, hard to reach behind the header. your oil screener is on the left?? has that location changend over the model years? thx
@nemoltuАй бұрын
Hey, sorry for the late response. There are two oil screens and they are on both sides. But one of them is very hard to reach and not really worth doing, cause it's always clean. Just do it with a big service, that's more than enough.

hi thanks for the whole video series. how many kilometers did you travel during your trip and did you encounter any technical problems with the AJP PR7?
@nemoltu Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! The total kilometers from Bergen, Norway, and back was 19000 kilometers... 7.5K out of them with the Desert X and the rest with a PR7. If I didn't count that the factory choice of the tablet is very poor and not understandable for me (so buggy and slow) and I should mention that the OHLINS suspension is way too hard on my bike, but the choice for the standard model is too soft (that what I've heard), then I've had just one thing what happened to me, and that was a little spring on the foot brake leaver broke twice, but I'm writing that with the smile, cause that was nothing :). I don't count the rectifier at the beginning of the trip (that was our own mistake, not the factory or motorcycle quality).

@@nemoltu thank you for your response, I received my AJP PR7 on September 22. I did the break-in quickly and after the 1000km service I left for 5 days on the TET 17.25 in France, i.e. 1450km 70% off road 30% road. I was previously on a T700 Teneré for 4 years (very good bike but I must say that the weight on technical and very difficult parts is not your friend, especially solo). Of course with the AJP PR7 you have to accept driving on fast roads at 100/110km/h at cruising speed. If you watch my last video, you will be able to see the accessories that I installed, notably the ADVENTURE MEN CAVE optical kit. For the moment, I have not changed the shock absorber springs, I am waiting to have a little more perspective to make various modifications. apart from the speed selector which I find very far from my foot, which bothers me... but I will find a solution. see you soon kzbin.info/www/bejne/mYTJdqhsj7ygg7ssi=h76B5W3obtQk6ZJU

@atprodT700 Жыл бұрын
hi, you have to watch and subscribe 😁👍 For original shock absorbers (fork and shock absorber), the springs are often not hard enough, especially if you have 20 kg of luggage... see more. But what is decisive is your body weight. for me it's 70kg so light. to answer your question I find that the shock absorber is a little too soft and I only have 2500 km which means that the spring will soften further, in the Off road parts I did not feel any discomfort for the moment. As for the fork, nothing to say at the moment. I'm waiting to have more perspective and distance with the AJP PR7 to have a more objective opinion. Looking forward to seeing you on my channel.@@nemoltu

Thought you could get better fuel economy than that? Though it wasn't ever happy on that tyre, so a load of energy being wasted destroying it I guess.
@nemoltu Жыл бұрын
I wasn't thinking about the fuel economy and put it over here just for people who are curious about fuel consumption in different scenarios. Talking about the tire, I was really happy with the MotoZ RallZ I had on my DesertX for the first leg of my trip and I was so surprised that the adventure variant is less durable.

I had to skip ahead to see this video. Why do you think the tire failed? Others on the internet mention the size of their tire and the size of the rim. i don't think so. Maybe a bad batch from the factory. i got 10,000 kilometers on mine. They are worn out but no cracks like in your video. i did go with a tube less tire on the back and that might be a harder tire. The front looked worse than the back at 10k. My front had a terriable wobble in the handle bars at highway speeds and I added a steering damper and can now run 120 kilometers per hour with no trouble. Will you replace the timing chain at 20k? Seems early. Thank you for the great videos.
@nemoltu Жыл бұрын
Hi, John, I think, that the reason it happened is that I was riding in quite low pressure on the highway in between the dirt roads at higher speeds, but... That could not be the case. When I got the tire back in Lithuania, the shop owner brought me to show one that had exactly the same problem and that was from the traveler who kept way over 2 bars in the tire. So, the guy, who mounted it, suggested that I not inflate more than 1.5 bars even on the tarmac, and I agreed with him, I think that should be quite good, but I had 1.2 sometimes. The front is worn out quite funny- the front of the nobs are like 30 percent taller than the back on the same knob on the middle of the tire, but it rides ok, did not wanna change it cause it looks like I can get a few more thousands out of it. And yes that wobble felt very dangerous, but it was gone when the tire wore out more. I think that has to do with knobby tires. Timing chain change at 20K sounds really not reasonable for me. I don't think I'm gonna do that, but we will see. The next season will show that. Thanks!
@johnparadise4747 Жыл бұрын
Hi Nemo,@@nemoltu Thank you for your opinion on the timing chain. 20k seems a little early. I'm leaving the oil screen alone for now but will be taking a look at the valves as I have 10k on it now. My front wore funny like yours did. Years ago I had the Tractionator Adventure on another bike and it to wore the same way. They now have a Tractionator Dualventure that is reversable. I might try that next in the tubeless model. As for the rear - This is strange. I used 1.7 bars and no splitting with off road and on road at 100 kph. Mine was a tubeless tire and have read that the tubeless is is a harder tire and has a higher speed rating. The steering damper has been wonderful. Spendy and difficult to get all of of parts but the handlebar shake scared the hell out of me on the highway. Looking forward to your next videos.

If your tire is not developing the cracks, there is no reason to change it. There are a lot of guys who past more than 10K km and the tire wears out quite well without cracking.
@MLeitao Жыл бұрын
That tire should replaced free with warranty, it's a shame such an expensive tire to be like that. But you were on the road and couldn't do anything about that...
@nemoltu Жыл бұрын
You have a good point over here. I didn't even think about it. First I noticed that it started to crack when the bike had about 7.5K kilometers and it started to get worse. One thing has to be mentioned- I was riding 120km/h with 1.2 bars for some time and that might be a not-correct speed-to-pressure ratio. I looked up on the manufacturer's web page for recommended speed and pressure recommendations, but could not find any. The tire could do 15K or even more kilometers for sure, just sad it started breaking apart. By the way, when the guy installed the tire for me back in Lithuania, he brought me to show one MotoZ Tractionator tire he just had changed for another traveler with exactly the same problem, and he said that he thinks that it happened because of the using with too high pressure.
