To increase women's participation and influence in political and public decision-making, the country needs to include women in its plans to further increase leadership roles in its different states of business. Their voices are slowly being noticed, and women themselves have been working very hard to engage those in power to recognise their presence.
South African women in particular have been climbing strides in different sectors of business and leadership. It is important to look at women in leadership as a conversation to continue with the debate around the state of affairs affecting women in different positions. Women are more likely to live in challenging situations, and poverty than men, so it is essential to recognise their voices. Mapaseka speaks with one of South Africa's most influential women, Chairperson of the NCOP - National Council of Provinces, Honorable Thandi Modise and they chat about the challenges faced by SA women in authority or influential positions.
