Sadly this is the truth. A number of these scalpers poke fun at the Sun Man line but then the moment there's a profit to be made they go nuts for a Sun Man figure.

Snake Armor He-Man and Bolt-Man are plentiful here in Germany. Smyths Toys has a bunch of them and they regularly show up at Rossmann drugstores and online as well. Kobra Khan and Rattlor seem to be rarer, though you can get them online and people also continue to spot them in stores. I got my Kobra Khan at a Rossmann store just before Christmas. In general, it is still possible to find MOTU toys at retail here. Smyths Toys is usually a good source for all the MOTU lines. Rossmann drugstores can be a good source, but it depends on the location. My nearest Rossmann is still stuck on the 200X He-Man and Skeletor/Pig-Head/Mantenna wave The Müller drugstore chain also carries MOTU, but they're less reliable.

I got the same email as you from both from the retail EE site and from their distribution site (I am a reseller) regarding MOTU wave 11. After receiving the emails I reached out to EE and was told they are expecting cancellations of the Wave 9 and Wave 10 cases to be coming from Mattel any day now. As you mentioned, Mattel is obviously having distribution issues. When it comes to MOTU, Mattel has been sending out solid cases of figures (4 of the same figure) instead of the typical wave cases (4 figures, one of each figure in the wave). Mattel isn't even honoring vendor preorders on the wave cases anymore. On the reseller side I was basically told not to order wave cases anymore and only order solid cases from now on. This is why EE is able to still have the single figures up, but not the wave cases. This is very aggravating to everyone involved and Mattel needs to get their act in gear.

Duplico was over-hyped right out the gate. No one knew what was going on, where to get him, what wave he was in? We were all chomping at the bit for some MOTU Origins news. Mattel left us in the dark and the mystery only fanned the flames of our obsession. They dropped him unannounced on V-Day and we all got hit with sudden FOMO as scalpers sucked up product like a despicable vacuum. I'm glad he is finally appearing in other retailers. We can all let the Duplico hype die down a little bit now.

EE cancelling pre-orders in the U.S. because the product was "discontinued"...meanwhile, Duplico is randomly appearing in another country. I'm sorry, but so far, all I'm seeing is exactly what Scott has been saying would happen.

Duplico is only appearing in mexico and amazon mexico had it, usa amazon doesn't have it, Mattel creations online store is still sold out of it and wal-mart doesn't have it for sale just a placeholder listing of sorts.

Duplico is going to be a common figure. I would highly suggest NOT to pay $300 for this figure. You will be kicking yourself later.

I totally agree with you.....I've been collecting the line but have held back. Duplico is a figure that in reality is part of a LAME line linked with MOTU. He shouldn't cost more than $30 max

Jay, that happens all the time. Most figures are solicited to retailers in either mixed cases (multiple figures) or solid cases (all figures in the case are the same character) and for some reason Mattel likes to cancel the mixed cases early.

My takeaway… Mexico likes and supports MOTU more than US. As PD would say, “Very cool.” Oh, and getting a Duplico in US will cost $200-300. Not cool.

Mattel actually got people losing their minds over lame-ass Rulers Of the Sun figures. I don't know if it's funny or just plain sad. Toy collectors have just reached an all-time low. A couple years ago would you believe people would be going crazy over Rulers Of the Sun of all things? I would totally love to see Mattel add Strawberry Shortcake to MOTU & watch all the collectors killing themselves to get the ultra-rare Purple Pieman exclusive. lol OMG toy collecting is going completely insane. Absolute insanity! Diving straight into the toilet.

I’m going to say this again. If you know ANYTHING about collecting, ALL the Rulers of the Sun figures will yield heavier returns than MOTU-O. They are obscure asf and THAT is what is sought after later on. To all the Sun-Man HATERS, don’t get mad because he, in many ways, looks better and is cooler than regular He-Man (who is my fav next to Batman). Sorry, but that’s where the hate comes from. Quit your 😭😭😭😭😭😭 already.
