Here's a tip when building a lego steam locomotive put the drive wheels at a 90° offset so the wheels don't lock up

@@Djkillr make the left side be at the opposite point in rotation of the right, if the left side's coupling rod is at the top have the right side's be at the bottom. It doesn't have to be %100 accurate but the closer the better

@@Accreal that’s 180° off. 90° is if the left side’s rods are at the top of the wheels, the right side should be at the rear

If you or anybody else are interested in the Mould King brand, there are other building train sets from this company. This is set number 12006. There’s also set numbers -12001 (a dark green passenger diesel locomotive w/ one green coach. Another type of coach can be purchased separately for this set, -12002 (A white bullet train w/ one white coach. Another coach can be purchased separately), -12005 (A black steam locomotive w/ black tender and a green coach), -12007 (A dark green steam locomotive w/ a dark green tender and dark blue coach with yellow stripes and white roof), -12003 (Pretty much the same exact Mould King steam locomotive this guy reviewed recently), and 12004 (A dream train set w/ a steam locomotive, tender, and two passenger coaches.

@@F40M07 Oh yea, I also forgot to add the Mould King Magic Train set (which pretty much represents the Lego Hogwarts Express from Harry Potter, but better looking imo). This one comes with a red steam locomotive, red tender, and one red coach. This train has lighting and sound effects. And all the Mould King steam trains can operate with smoke too. And there’s also the Mould King Christmas train set, which comes with a steam locomotive, tender (that is very decorative, with a big yellow bow on top of it, and a flatbed rolling stock, with a Christmas tree and a cart with presents on it.

Since this Mallard set doesn't work well with the front and rear trucks, I would rather get the UP 844 set they have and add in the smoke generator that is in the Mallard set. I'll still have the Mallard on display.

It seems to be a nice product but could do with some customisations from who ever buys it. Like making it compatible with the actual lego controllers to make it move off and slow down more gradual. Its funny how this Mallard works better as an. 0-6-0 rather than a 4-6-2. XD The stickers are also quite poor with the white boarder, something the picture on the box shows it not to have. I suppose that could be sorted with a craft knife.

Some of Mouldking's sticker do go wrong like in this video, but as I know, it's not hard to connect with their customer service for a new, correct one.

I have the same train and the same issues. In standard lego curves R40 its really bad and has a lot to do to drive forward. I will try if i can make better adhesion with another set of rubber bands on the drive wheels.

I refuse to believe that this is what they call a “A4 Design” in building blocks. Bruh, the buffers are so damn big, the side Valances are missing, the real 4468 has a double blast pipe which this model has only one, I can go on and on with the issues with this set.
