An excellent video. Hello from the Tracy Mountain Railway in Colorado, where we still run a Lionel HO GP-9, along with a rebuilt caboose, which was involved in a wreck, but still proudly proclaims "Bit by Lionel" on the side. The Geep is a great runner, and is used for freight and passager duties, as well as pushing the snowplow and flanger when it snows outside. I bought it brand new, way back when, for the princely sum of $24.99 plus tax. That amount would have gooten me two athearn F-7 units, a powered A and a dummy B, and Two streamline

Isn't it werid that lionel reuses some locomotives cause that locomotive model is a N1 berkshire (which is the polar Express one) cause NYC aka New York central never had N1 berkshires

One of the railroads that had these locomotives, (P&LE? PM?) was a subsidiary of the NYC, so you could see them on the NYC system occasionally. Edit: The locomotives had a small NYC system oval on the sides, but unfortunately were not lettered for the New York Central. 💙 T.E.N.

Which Berkshire class you mean The 2-8-4 N-1 The 2-8-4 S-2 Or the 2-8-4 kanawha k-4 Some of the 2-8-4 locomotives have a different cowcatchers design

That train is familiar this train is called Pere Marquette 1223 N-1 class Berkshire 2-8-4 but this train has a wheel arrangement of 2-8-4 instead of 4-6-4 because all steam engines in New York central is the only streamlined j3a Hudson and all steam engines is non-streamline 4-6-4 engines

@@adrieljalid4039 yes indeed but the Lima locomotive works is the company who made the 2-8-4 steam engines and the New York central system bought a new first steam locomotive and they change the wheel arrangement of 4-6-4

@@adrieljalid4039 correct the pere Marquette 1225 is used as the polar express train in the movie and the reality the Pere Marquette 1225 restored and give a new livery they both work with nickel plate road 765 and the pere Marquette 1225 in the event they painted him black and if the event has ended pere Marquette 1225 will return into black and white striped in ladders in the boiler the party in 2009 the train festival and the southern pacific gs-4 daylight visits the pere Marquette railway with nickel plate road 765 and the small engines is in other side of the sheds Also have you seen in google the southern pacific 4449 daylight is built by Lima locomotive works and the three Lima engines called nickel plate road 765 Southern pacific daylight 4449 And pere Marquette railway steam locomotive no 1225

Never knew Lionel ho trains also work in generic bachmann track & control without the original Lionel controller

You can also use the Bachmann power pack to just power the track and use the remote/your phone to control the engine. It just has to be about 50% to power it minimally.

the one thing that bugs me about this NYC model, is that it has a Worthington SA Feedwater Heater. While the New York Central's subsidiaries, Pittsburgh & Lake Erie and Boston & Albany did have berkshires, they never had those Worthington Feedwater Heaters. even though this engine is numbered in the B&A1400 series, those berks had an Elasco Bundle type feedwater heater that hung over the edge of the smokebox.
