Dryzone Mould Remover and Prevention Kit
The definitive long-term solution to mould with dual-action mould remover & sanitiser spray.
About Dryzone Mould Removal and Prevention Kit
Tired of cleaning the same mouldy corner again and again?
Standard household cleaners can often just hide the symptoms or even encourage regrowth. Dryzone dual-action Mould Treatment Pack immediately cleans the mould and protects from further infestation by destroying the mould organism and spores.
Part 1. Fast Acting Mould Remover - Astonishing visual results in less than three minutes. Dryzone Mould Eliminator is a highly effective, bleach-based cleaner designed to remove mould and mildew from walls, ceilings, floors and other household surfaces within minutes.
Part 2. Long-term fungicidal protection, Biostatic effect - Dryzone Mould Sanitiser is a biocidal solution designed to kill mould spores, sterilize the area and prevent regrowth on treated surfaces. Periodic application is advised to keep bathroom, kitchen and household surfaces mould-free.
Easy to use - Treat mould-affected surfaces in under 30 minutes with little to no scrubbing, depending on the severity of the infestation.
Use Part 1 to remove the mould, rinse or wipe away, then apply Part 2. Leave the Sanitiser to work for at least 1 hour for maximum effect before rinsing.
Kit components: 2 x Dryzone Mould Eliminator 500ml, 1 x Dryzone 100 Mould Sanitiser 500 ml, 1 x Microfibre cloth, 1 x Pair of protective rubber gloves.
For damp and condensation issues, see the other products in the Dryzone range or call Safeguard for a free consultation.

It's a great solution, but the mould always comes back eventually because it grows roots into the silicon and the bleach only really reaches the surface. It's a ruddy faff but if you cut the silicone out and replace it cleanly, you can fix it for good.

HG mold remover foam spray is also superb. The foam sticks well to vertical surfaces and given 30 mins removes light mold. Another tip I was given - never lick your finger when smoothing silicone you are effectively putting germs straight into the silicone from day one.

A very cheap and extremely effective solution is to boil a kettle of water, gingerly pour it over the mouldy silicone areas, and then drizzle neat bleach over the top. The heat causes the bleach to act almost instantly and gets in surprisingly deep. 10-15 minutes and the mould is all gone. Ventilate well, however!

make a stiff but pliable paste with thick bleach and bicarbonate of soda. apply with the back of a teaspoon, pushing the paste onto any black mould leave for a couple of hours, or overnight, the rinse away. spotless and bright! works a treat, especially on black mouldy silicone, which most proprietary cleaners don’t shift and it will stay away for months and months, if not permanently. costs pennies, not particular toxic

My parents fit into this category and my mum does her own cleaning at 69. Their houses have always been hospital grade clean, even when my sister and I lived at home. My dad is 70, has suffered MND for over 20 years and only recently bought a mobility scooter so he can keep doing his own gardening, “to keep active.” He deals with extreme nerve pain, can hardly walk or talk but continues to be as independent as ever (although he recently had to sell his farm and boat because it was just too unsafe to continue). We may not see eye-to-eye but I’m so proud of them both.

@gdfggggg
@gdfggggg Жыл бұрын
It’s the moisture condensation on the surfaces that the mould lives on. The surfaces are cold and there’s excess moisture in the air. Loft insulation would be a good start to insulate your ceiling from the cold air and a decent extractor fan to remove the moist air. The walls can be lined with PIR boards but that’s a different ball game when cost is a concern. You shouldn’t get any mould but if the surfaces are cold and there’s lots of moist air then it will be an issue.
@matthewsellers82
@matthewsellers82 Жыл бұрын
Get rid of the Artex (or get a professional to, some of the old Artex had asbestos in it); get down to a smoothish (wipeable) finish; wash everything down with bleach solution; let fully dry; seal everything up with something like 1.2.3 primer; use a specific bathroom paint with anti fungal additives; be prepared to touch up every other year after wiping down with bleach solution; try and control humidity in the bathroom even if it means leaving a window open after a shower.
@tikaanipippin
@tikaanipippin Жыл бұрын
Just apply thick bleach with a paintbrush neat, don't dilute or spray, and leave it to dry, with window open and door closed, heat off, overnight. Extractor fans and heating do not work as well as cold fans which accelerate evaporation and drying of surfaces blown by draught from fan.

Easy answer to mouldy silicone. Stop using silicone. It is absolute garbage. More often than not i can just pull it out! I have replaced dozens of mouldy silicone shower/bath seals with "Soudal Fix all" high tack acrylic adhesive/sealer and it still looks new years later👌 first used 3 years ago and its a regular customer (as are several others) so can see how well it looks down the line.
