I had to return mine. Didn't get a pic on it for a week in a spot that I historically always get deer. Put my Reveal right underneath it and one day later had pics on my Reveal and nothing on my edge. I'd have to stand in front of it for minutes before it would take a pic. I messed with the settings still no luck. Returned and got another Reveal.

I have 2 edge cams abs 2 base cams. I agree with perry much everything you have said. The slow trigger speed sucks but the video quality is why I kept them

Is a cell reception necessary?

Hey thanks for watching. Since there is no SD card (and it send images to the cloud), you will need cell reception to get your photos and videos.

I loved idea of the Moultri GPS cameras but they were nothing but trouble...I have four of them and constantly fighting with them. I have an old 6000 as well...refurbished that is trash. The only one that worked all the time, any time was the 7000i. The two new Edge cameras I got work great....no SD, no mandatory Lithiums...and it will transmit pictures to cloud even with FAIR or GOOD signal...doesnt need GREAT signal to work. No GPS but will take that over a camera that I have to use as a plain trail cam while paying for service is great.

Ive had a rough experience with moultrie cell cams. Mostly sd card related i belive. They also eat batteries like nothing ive seen so the 16 slots is nice. Id like to think this is atleast the right direction for the company. Im just not sure i want to wager another 100 on moultrie

I like this camera a lot. Aside from the spartan it is becoming my favorite. Wish the plans had cheaper options. One thing that is not mentioned much in cell cameras is the field of view(fov). I like a close up picture so i dont have to get the camera so close to the deer. That said, the detection is not as good as the tactacam but you have to request the full resolution every time on them. Theres just not a real great option out there for a ffordable cell camera. This is probably as close as it gets.

Does Spartan offer a multiple network camera? After using the Edge, no single-network cam can compete for our use, period. No matter the price or features. We are running 10 cameras unlimited for $107/month, so it gets better with more.

@@BG-bx4ey They do its called the m model, goes off any tower. The shared plan for 10 spartans is $76 for 2 gig of data. Moultries service is way more helpful and responsive but spartan is a better camera so take good with the bad.

I turned mine on and it said it was connecting it then said connected and I took a test pic but now if I just leave it it will keep connecting and then turn off and it does it over and over again

Had this issue too, it’s mainly because your setting upload to your phone on it is immediate. Basically as soon as it takes a picture it reconnects to the cell tower to upload it to your phone or app. Change it from immediate to every 6 hours or 11, battery will last a lot longer and it won’t do that. Only use immediate if it’s in a bad cell area

Hey Johnny, ah man. That stinks. Have you tried restarting your phone or updating the app and/or phone? Moultrie Mobile has a nice chat feature with support and they should be able to help you out if restarting/updating doesn’t work out.

I just bought a 2 pack and set them up in my house and had them both activated and taking pictures and sending to the app. Then i went and Set them up in the woods almost a full week ago on heavy trails and have yet to get pictures sent to the app. I'm getting concerned that somethings not right. The signal strength was good on one and fair on the other but neither are sending pictures and i know for a fact that deer, squirrels, racoons have been in front of that camera at some point in the last 6 days. Any suggestions? One of them sent pictures of me while setting it up immediately and the other one only took 1 pic of me while setting it up even though i walked by numerous times. BUT nothing since then.

Ah man, sorry to hear that Tyler! Is your subscription plan up to date and you still have photos left (you didn’t max out your monthly limit)? How is the battery life looking? You might have to bite the bullet and just do a walk-by to see if they pick you up. See if you can live chat with Moultrie Mobile Support. They have a pretty good response time.

What's the firmware version on your Edge? Mine is 1.0.42. I got a message on my app that Moultrie is putting out a new firmware version but I haven't received it yet unless 1.0.42 is the latest version? They are supposed to deliver it over the air to the camera.

Good video. Nice camera with a few nice features. But Moultrie lost me with the red glow IR. Its fine for deer but i also use for cuyotes and the older dogs know when 850 Nm IR hits them. 940 Nm is way better in that regard but im gonna stick to No Glow at least for the nasty fawn killing dogs. Next is trigger speed. And that camera should have got him dead center but it barely caught his back side. Again good video. And it's still a nice cam. I just put a new 7000i out that i had in the box. Its for deer and its working ok. Suppose to be invisible flash and honestly i dont know how accurate that is yet but its ok for deer. I just need a no glow unit in my fleet for coyotes.

The difference being that with the 7000i and delta cams, which had SD cards (yes they were problematic), when the camera stopped working and/or in lieu of burning data for large numbers of HD photos you could physically pull the SD card and transfer them directly to your phone or PC not having to pay for OTA tranfers on the data plan.

I have 7 of them. They have been out for a little over 2 months and all are showing between 29% and 50% battery. 2900 images and ~1000 videos taken between them all. I used amazon alkaline AA's which cost less than $5 per camera...
