My goodness, how so very right that I feel you are! I'm disappointed with the so-called "evolution" (modifications, removal of certain drum effects, etc.) Newer, especially in this context doesn't mean better, at least to me!

We're still not ready for this kind of brilliance.

@97awake Anything appearing under the heading/ title/theme/genre of "Liquid" should give you an idea of what I mean. Thankfully, the drumming of which I speak (I don't know all the technical terms) appears in a lot of the 2-step garage music that I hear coming out of London. If you listen, ( I only like this genre because the drumming picks up elements, ((at least to me, anyway)) of how lots of 90's Jungle and Atmospheric used to sound). To me, this "Liquid is monotonously and lazily strung together, without much variation to even bother listening to what goes for D&B nowadays!
@twentytwo1383 жыл бұрын
@@Carlbooze You are right. And i think the main difference is that old school artists made the drumloops themselves, everything from scratch. Every kick, hat and snare was manually selected and created on a machine. But nowdays most of them use pre-made samples with very little to no changes to the drumloop, maybe some tweaks like changing the pitch, tempo and few added percussion's but that's it. That's why many drumloops sound the same today. This also counts for trance artists, old school psychedelic trance especially. Nowdays every psytrance sounds exactly the same with overly used samples.
@Noises14443 жыл бұрын
@@Carlbooze I love the old sound but it doesn't purely come down to artistic choice. Music is limited and influenced by the technology available at the time. The irony is that now we have better equipment its harder to make old sounding tracks. I don't think the character of these old tracks can be fully replicated in a pure sense because in the modern context it wouldn't be genuine. I believe this sound can only be made in the ignorance of the past 2 decades of music technology. and that's why I love this music so damn much and yeah I agree I think a lot of the dance music in the mainstream is over produced and unimaginative
@retrotune45652 жыл бұрын
The 90s and early 2000's are in like a purgatory state of having music that sounds super nostalgic, yet so damn futuristic at the same time. I'm just in awe of how well they manage to use the music techniques available at the time and still create something so far ahead of it's time.

@orangeflipgram65494 жыл бұрын
yo its pretty easy to make that type of artwork I made something like it totally by accident. basically if you use a render engine that uses rasterized rendering and not ray/path tracing you can get a similar result you could also use game engines like unity to make those types of artwork since unity and most game engines uses rasterization to render its graphics. The reason why I recomend unity though is because its base version doesn't have any post processing effects so its pretty easy to get that sort of artstyle that you see in these vids. Any way here's some of the old artwork I made with blender about 2 years ago using blender 2.79 cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/410496523789664260/410880229683232778/bottle_in_sea.png cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/410496523789664260/410881629582524419/boomersword_.png cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/410496523789664260/414168415708774400/battle_ship_s_.png

jungle and dnb songs that can be perfectly paired with dated 3d renderings are definitely an underrated niche

My God! Most random stuff YT recommends is just ok, but once in a while it really is something else! Today is a good day!

Subscribed to your channel. I was born the year this set was released, so of course, I know so little about old school dnb, but I'm a huge fan; It's great to see how it all started, where all the samples come from and so on.. all the BASSICS. Thanks for continuously uploading.
