Definitely a bit broken but after so long of fighting looters I'm loving it. Just like selling smithed stuff for gold, I think the choice should be on the players whether they want to use it or not.

It does make the train the troops super easy to clear though... "here have this expensive sword.... you've passed basic training"

Great work! I knew this would be a thing but I don't smith enough to see it first hand! TW, please be gentle with the Nerfing :) I hope they just make it work for tier 1-4 or such :)

It's a weird feature. Why not just have training fields like there are in warband? Obviously the xp troops got from those were rubbish, so give it a buff! Or, create an encamped stance like in viking conquest and allow your troops to train. Make it a little mini game, and participate with your troops to increase xp and morale.

As TW has told me, u can always go mod. Shocked to hear that from a dev but look at warband, good game make exceptional by mods, Bannerlord will be the same, just tough it out till it goes live and let those magnificent modders do their magic

Oh my gawd. I've been grinding for literal years. I usually donate weapons and sometimes smith stuff I figure the troop might need. That's obviously stupid and wrong. I'm gonna try this tonight.

Can i just say ...before its nerfed ... Flesson unlocked all smithing on an earlier patch then moved to 1.6 .. actually unlocking all the smithing items will take an age as the unlock recipe perks have been nerfed already - smithing most items will get you 1 unlock only.

It is already nerfed. Am running 1.6.0.276411 and a tier 6 crafted two-handed sword, selling for 45k, gives 300xp. Same as a 180 gold Spatha. Am totally ok with that.

I missed the main part. So, I need to open this perk in Steward, need to be in the city and discard some weapons to upgrade my troops?

yeah the 125 steward perk, just smith high DMG 2H swords and then don't go to trade menu in town but inventory and discard them

Just posted a thread on the TW forum with some suggestions to fix this, from limiting it to T0-2 troops, a set amount per items (based on weapon tier) and exclude player crafted weapons from giving XP (although I suggested a new smithing perk 'Military Smith' at L200 to allow it)

Thank you Flesson! I was wondering that. After battle your can take all discard till red, upgrade, discard more till red, upgrade... you can lvl up an entire army after a big battle. It is broken!

Yeah I should have taken intelligence build and done a big battle and take all weapons from the 1 battle to see how many it would level

@@Flesson19 Yep, get all, lvl them up normally, discard till red, upgrade, discard... lol.... it would be micromanaging but it would be great. Keep the good goods and use the garbage to upgrade is a good idea too. Will never overburn after battle with crap loot. They will nerf it! lol, but even nerfed, if not removed, it will be a great option.

Is that 1.6? Is it recommended to install? I currently have 1.5.10, and when I watched yr videos, you mentioned smithing provided less chance to unlock new part...

Yeah I think it was introd5in 1.6 and we are having problems unlocking parts the devs know and plan to alter it

I do not mind they keep it but there should be an option like for damage taken, so we can choose between 25% to 100% exp or something,
