I've just realized the most important issue to fix in the next update: - add waving flag animation followed by thunderous war cry after every wave!

Probably an easy mod to add an animation spot, custom animation of flag waving, and playing a war cry. Maybe also adds an incentive of doing that to end a battle such as making more soldiers wounded rather than killed. A tedious thing, but if you're not speed running, then it is epic.

Is it just me or did the scale of the battles beef up by a lot? (compared to Warband) If it is, hoo boy, I'll enjoy hearing 400 men and my PC screaming.

You know that in warband you just had to edit a line in a game's file to increase battle scale? If i remember correctly you could go up to 1000 NPC on the battlefield at once. However with my computer, over 400 men was pretty laggy

@@user-tx3xy7lw6w no... you could play with more. Alot of total conversion mods had the ability to increase troop counts in battles. The game may have lagged more and been more unstable if your rig wasnt up to the task though.

Jonathan London yeah getting the game to run more than 150 soldiers at a time, consistently, and without crashes or frame rate drops took more than just editing one line lol. That’s probably why mods that change almost every aspect of the game also included higher troop counts. Even then there was always a limit, exceeding 300 troops always was extremely unstable and prone to hard crashes.

The framerate could drop a little during sieges but that s all. I think your computer was just not powerful enough. So i hope you have a better computer since then otherwise don t expect to have 1000 soldiers battles in bannerlord X)

With archery it's recommended to use 3rd or 1st and stick to one. Because the camera is at different elevations, the two modes require different crosshair placement.

After seeing a bunch of these battle demos, it seems they all immediately devolve into a clusterbrawl once battle commences. I think a fatigue mechanic would be nice to incentivize more tactical engagements with occasional pulling back of troops, cycling in fresh troops for fatigued ones, walking instead of running at times, etc. Higher level troops could have better stamina and last longer in continuous combat. Would a mod be able to add this?

Yeah, the brawl is a bit goofy. Although a bit cool with hundreds of men fighting until one side runs out of men, stamina on npcs would be great. Slower swings for example and running causing retreats and long engages battle to get even more deadly. That would be badass.

Oh, I figured this tip out, never charge your archers, they'll just run in with their swords. Have them advance and they will go up with their bows first. (Well, I should also mention that they will sometimes pull out their bows/crossbows when charging, but I've noticed they are more likely to take out their swords and charge into the enemy when they get close enough rather than shoot them in the face) Also, how the fuck is your PC not burning?

im using a 1060 6gb crappy laptop i7 and have it at 1000 men battle capacity, with most settings high or very high and get about 40-45fps with all 1000 on the screen, otherwise mostly smooth. They did goddamn well.

The more i watch these videos the less excited i become because i keep noticing faults. The collision between troops is so bad and repulsive, they act like liquid... and AI seems stupid. Just watch starting from 3:00 it feels like one of those battle simulators games...

This is MOD not an actual game, not even beta. Mod's creators said that game's repositorium have no special AI scripts for sieges, so they been forced to add multiplayer open field combat AI. Beta single version should have siege AI version and improved open field AI version too.

Much as I'm looking forward to this game, it's disappointing the inability for the Ai to properly man the walls with archers. I don't think they have any solution for it due to the engines limitations. So sieges are going to be this World War Z zombie rush and it will get old fast.

It's already old by now, the sieges should take way longer with you crushing walls, the enemy sneaking troops from behind you and creating a second battlefield. Your siege engines are under attack your troops standing behind the defences waiting for their comrades to climb that ladder, instead of all walking towards it. Having a siege take 30 min wouldn't be that bad at all. But these are Turkish developers stationed at a university so it's never going to be real good. Just gotta wait for mods to fix this shit.
