Mount Etna shoots lava into the sky

Stunning footage captures explosive lava activity at Mount Etna in Italy earlier this week. Mount Etna is one of the most active volcanoes in the world and in an almost constant state of activity, according to the European Space Agency.

@@lisaduff6307 did you know that lightning produces molecules that clean green house gasses from the atmosphere ? So they too are actually more beneficial than harmful. Lightning, and even smaller electric discharges in the atmosphere, creates ozone (O3) and two oxidizing chemicals: hydroxyl (OH) and hydroperoxyl (HO2).

I have an affinity for that mountain ..Stayed two blks.away in house w/chickens, topiary, & sm. vineyard. From upper floor u could see it smoking..The day we flew out it exploded..I could have walked to it..Nervous but loved looking through the triangular crossed metal window...in my head kept thinking about rocks & gasses..Pompeii & Mt. St. Helens...Had just come from museum in Naples, w all Pompeii & Herculenium items & Vesuvius in the middle of the water..nothing prettier..again, nervous..Catania, modern city, 20 min. away w/all sm. towns in-between to where we were.
