Mount Everest has two main climbing routes, the southeast ridge from Nepal and the north ridge from Tibet, as well as many other less frequently climbed routes. Of the two main routes, the southeast ridge is technically easier and is the more frequently used route.

At Least the Tibet side does not have the crazy ice fall like the Nepal side and more over packed with climbers.

@@RickyB256 Camp 4 to Camp 6 looks challenging. But then the summit part not as bad as the South route. Least from this limited view. And Camp 6 is in the Death Zone.

But it has the Steps and is colder, windier, has a longer summit day, and you spend more time in the death zone.

I would argue North ridge is easier just because thru the South Ridge you have to pass the Kumba Ice falls which is a serious obstacle..

Easier or more risky? Going through the ice fall must be absolutely terrifying, but the north is colder and has a number of daunting challenges too.

It’s harder. It takes longer to get up and down, and there are three “steps”, which are rocky cliffs. The 100 ft 2nd Step is the most difficult. The south side is easier. The north side is cheaper.

If there was no ladder on the second step, it would be really hard. Conrad Anker got permission to temporarily remove the ladder and climb it. It was a 5.18 climb. He doubted anyone could have done it without modern equipment.

The only way I would accept the torture that is to climb it, would be to find a way to jump on top of it for a long and nice glide to th ebottom. (Aka parachute or delta glider) That would make sense.

they should just make a permeant bridge or ski lift over the icefall since that area is always changing and has caused the most deaths on the mountain, would save Nepal alot of trouble and they could charge people more money to get lifted to camp 1.

i would want to do the ice falls, just cuz of its challenge and history...but i would much rather go the waaaaaay non commercialized route. i dont wanna be around too many climbers. Not tryna have a 96 incident again and either die up there or be forced to turn around and blow 50k. plus i dont wanna be associated with any group that disrespects the mountain by leaving their trash and waste up there. thats just not kool...

@@fabioresende3442 its everest brother, its gonna happen on any side lol but imo due to the falls, the normal congestion and the trendyness of it now, its the north for me. Most ppl will climb everest to tell others. I wanna cliomb to tell myself I did it. This is between me and the mountain. Nature with nature, not against. To me the commercial side goes against. They just wanna summit, I wanna climb the mountain, cause it's there and the biggest one. Just the thought of only going where planes fly is insane, and you walked up to that height. Like you could summit and plane crusing at alt...flows by (it aint gon flow) youre eye to eye with the passengers..could never happen just saying...

Negative....the border runs through the summits of Lhotse and Everest. if you're on the South Col route and fall one way,m you fall into Nepal (back down the Lhotse Face)...fall the other way and you're in China (the Kangshung Face). Of the 14 peaks over 8000 meters, only 5lie entirely in a single country, with no border running through the summit (Shishapangma in China, Dhaulagiri I/Manaslu/Annapurna I in Nepal, and Nanga Parbat in Pakistan). The remaining 9 ALL sit on a border and are shared between 2 countries (Everest/Lhotse/Makalu/Cho Oyu in Nepal/China, Kangchenjunga in Nepal/India, K2/Gasherbrum I and II/Broad Peak in Pakistan/China). Stop it with the nationalism....that's why people fight over fucking worthless areas like Kashmir.
