Thank you so much for this video! Since campus is closed because of the coronavirus, this is really helpful for me in making a decision!!

I'm so glad this was helpful during this unprecedented, difficult time! Everyone is being impacted by this in many & different ways, myself included; your comment has definitely made my day :)
Thank you for making these videos! I was planning to visit MHC (and other colleges) during the spring, but unfortunately I've had to cancel all those plans because of quarantine :( Your MHC tour videos have been really helpful!

I'm so, so glad these videos can be helpful during this time! It's so disappointing that this virus & quarantine has affected so many prospies; at MHC we really cared a ton about making sure that you all could get a good sense of what it was like on campus and it was ultimately visiting that led to my decision to attend! Feel free to DM me on IG @mayasocalledlife if I can help answer any questions you have!

FYI about Dickinson from a current resident: Dickinson is the second smallest dorm at MHC, and is very homey. Now houses all class years. Big backyard with beautiful bushes and adirondack chairs, quiet at night (unless you have noisy neighbors), fully stocked kitchen, and impossible to get lost in the halls (easy to navigate floor plan). Housed faculty a very long time ago, and some rooms have balconies or mantles that used to be fireplaces. The con is that it is a walk to get to anything, which is hard in the winter. Great dorm for the mature type who like some distance from their on-campus life.

Kyber Serafino congrats on starting your adventure at MoHome! Rockies is a great first year dorm, given its central location :)

Hi there! I stumbled across your video and it’s really good. I graduated Mt Holyoke in 2012. It is interesting seeing what someone who is attending Moho now thinks of the dorms and the new rumors that surrounds some of the buildings. I lived in Pearsons, South Rockies, Safford and Abby when I attended. New dorm had just been built with no name, since Jojo was still president. When I was living in Safford my junior year it had open after years of renovations and I was very lucky with my number (ended up in a huge double). Dickinson in my time was for anyone aside from first years. Pearsons Annex was only for FPS. Also we didn’t have first year dorms back when I was there, we were put everywhere. Did you know that Torrey used to serve lunch? Just like Kendade. Random question but do you still have the fish during dorm lottery time?

Hello!! So neat to meet and reminisce this way! I graduated in May of 2017, so even this is a bit outdated, as mentioned in the description about all the dining halls ending... So funny that New Dorm still didn't have a name at the time. And when I started in 2013, we had Lynn as President and then Sonya transitioned in. Pearsons Annex was closed during my time, as was Kendade lunch and the fish for lottery (R.I.P.)

mayasocalledlife I realized after I posted this, that you may have graduated since I saw when the first part was posted. Sadness about the lottery fish, my mind is blanking but he had a name. It’s nice to see a shot of all the dorms with the dinning halls still in them, since I heard that they were closing when the new Blanchard opened. 😕

My thoughts exactly! During senior week, I knew that it would be nice to document how things were at the time. Superblanch, as we called it while it was still a dirt pile, is now up and running; it is impressive but it's been controversial and it's different just having one dining location.

Ha, this video is great for bringing back memories. Some of the dorms were really nicely renovated since I graduated in 2009. And the lottery fish! I'd forgotten about her/him/it.

hi i know this comment is so late but does mount holyoke dining halls have options for hindus (vegetarians)? I know you mentioned halal and kosher options so i was wondering :)
@mayasocalledlife3 жыл бұрын
Yep! MHC definitely has options for vegetarians & vegans. Especially now that dining halls have been condensed into one big food court-type style, it should be even easier!
