Mount Lyndesay - QLD - NSW Border

Mount Lyndesay is 1,175 metres (3,855 ft) high and is on the south-west boundary on the border between Queensland and New South Wales,
and is approximately 140 km south west of Brisbane.
Mount Lindesay is one of a number of peaks in the McPherson Range, and is remarkable for its tiered summit,

Is it a result of an old volcanic plug or just very hard rock at the top that did not weather?
