You could certainly do that, you are going to need to run it through a hole in the firewall and then probably under carpet or a door threshold. We do not have specific info on this for your vehicle but it has been done several times before so it should work for you.

Seems like over kill to wire all the way to the battery. I have a 12 volt plug on the driver side which delivers 15 amps. Also you could wire to the tail lights but if there is a short you could loose head lights and tail lights.

It would not function at all, it needs the battery wire to power the 4-way. This unit only uses the tail light wiring as signal wires and then draws the power to light the trailer tail lights from the battery.

@@amajoros16 He did not clearly state what he did with the wiring and that is on us. In this installation the wire was left on the inside of the rear door and will be pulled out when towing a trailer.
