That footage at 7:00 is Awesome !!! I'd have been draining a whole camera battery ! Let's hear about how you choose a route, particularly when you've not been there before? All that loose rock would have me second-guessing myself for hours.

Thank you!! We chose our routes based on feedback from others, particularly from 14ers.com. We try our best to find alternatives to routes with reported rock fall or climb during the week. If there are other climbers, we usually wait for them to clear vertical or loose areas before continuing! And yes.... Despite freezing our butts off, that cloudy sunrise was phenomenal!!!

One of these days...hope to do these mountains (planning to do all the traverses). We're going to do Crestone Traverse this labor day. Would love to see you guys do a video on either or both of those peaks. Thanks for these great videos. really enjoy watching.

Hey man, thx for watching this one too. I think it was by luck that we completed both in one day. The weather was so sketchy that week. Good luck with the traverse and definitely stay safe while descending the Needle! Crestone Peak and Needle are our favorite 14ers so far and we'll definitely be repeating!

Did you go up to the summit through Kilpacker Basin? Nothing in the video looked anything more 3rd class. No 4th class ridge to contend with on that route? Interesting.
