I really like the advice of releasing content every day as a tool for improvement... Too often people are overly conscious of their first videos and don't want criticism. Finding your style and voice on KZbin is such a tough thing to do as I am finding out for myself, but like most things in life, trying new things leads to experience that promotes new ways of thinking. My boyfriend introduced me to Casey about a year ago, but I havent watched anything of his until he started daily vlogging. I can honestly say that I've never came across such a motivating person in my life, nor have I listened to anyone with such drive for something they do. It's truly inspiring what he's achieved and is still trying to achieve, cos as he said 'No one's ever made it' there's no such thing as 'Making it', the best you can do is just keeping going. As a 19 year college student, I know that college isn't for me, but I'm doing it so I have something to fall back on, when in reality, I love photography/making videos etc. So that's gona be my main focus over the summer and for as long as I can do it :)

A lot of daily vloggers (and ones that are arguably successful) do the daily journal thing where they just throw a bunch of clips of their day into whatever editing software they have, and call it a day. I think this is lazy. How do you distinguish between "lazy" and "beginner?" Or maybe not just beginner, but "uncreative." I can't figure out if the daily vloggers I sometimes follow are just lazy or uncreative.

They don't care about changing up their content, shooting style, or editing style... or they just lack the personality to keep your interest after a while. They're happy with stale. Its amazing how Casey get shit done. He puts a camera down where he will go, walk back from where he started to get a shot of him walking in, go back to get the camera, and repeat. Like bruhh, thats dedication and hard work right there. For other vloggers, that clip would be the highlight of their vlog but for Casey that clip is ehh. Best vlogger of all time. You deserve all the love.

What Casey said is so true. The more you do something, such as making movies, the better, and more educated you become. He's inspired me to put my creativity to its fullest potential, and begin making movies myself. With each iMovie I've made this year for school, I'm learning what makes them better, and get complements from my peers. This summer I plan on making a movie(s) about the month I'll spend in Europe, armed with just my iPhone and tripod (because it's how I make the movie that counts). What editing software would you guys recommend for Windows? I have been working with Photoshop for a few years, so I suppose Adobe Premiere would be a good choice?

Lord Krigarjonas adobe premiere is a great program and if you're used to photoshop, you'll understand the adobe hot keys well. however, if you've never done any editing before you could always start with the basic Windows Movie Maker. it'll help you get the hang of cutting clips together, but once you find yourself wanting more creative options and technical features, definitely move onto Premiere.

I think what I love most about Casey's vlogs is that they play just like a movie. Not once (well maybe once) do I ever feel like I'm watching a VLOG (in the sense when the content creator makes it very aware to you that there is a camera). Of course it's a different story when he talks to the camera... but that's just the prologue to the actual events that will be taking place in the day. I'm jealous. He's just too freaking good & there is a ton of learning to be done by him - and we should all be very thankful that he wants his own viewers to succeed (with their own voice of course... case in point the "rip off artist" video... haha. must be original).
