Some nice scenery and tracks there John Have a look at a Nukeproof Horizon handle bar as it looks like you need something with a bit of back sweep available from chain reaction or take yourself off to a proper bike shop and tell/show them the problem I always take a protein bar on my rides with me something with nuts and fruit I also take Polo's and chewing gum Great video 👍 I always

Thank you very much. I will check out those bars maybe something to purchase at some point. I think it's because the Fury is more for hardcore mountain biking not just riding trails like I do

Hi John I never got to see a Fury Halfords service around where I live is awful I got myself a Vitus Nucleus 27vrs from Chain Reaction Cycles the Nukeproof Reaction bars I recommended are standard on it the only thing with chain reaction is it's mail order only so you have to do your research really well I'm really happy with what I bought 👍

Yeah the Fury is an excellent bike and it's hard to pick faults but I am picky 😁 To be fair there are lots of decent bikes around now 👍

solid ride out and a great route..! think you've already seen this one on strava - www.strava.com/activities/5412950881 but you can continue to rookhope from the parkhead cafe, then back via stanhope and wolsingham.. the handlebar cam works very well, consistent view, and focal length that captures what we need to see..! and that's for the reminder about 'On the Hoof' - as i saw something about it a while back (can't remember where from now) and I'm sure i expressed an interest on facebook for it...and I think I've been down that area since, but most likely after work when they're closed.. you can also buy 'helicopter tape' that you can use to help protect your frame too... I've got some on parts on my frame, works well too..

Sorry Alan your comment went into spam - I have now Pre-approved your comments so they should always work now. 👍 Yeah I think I remember you mentioning that route before the only problem is I try to go on the road as little as possible when on the mountain bike. I will for small stretches but not to long..... daft I know but I try to keep the two types of rides separate for each bike (Road and Mountain). On the Hoof is worth visiting but they are not always there I think.... I think it depends on the weather to. But saying that this next coming week is supposed to be nice to you should visit. Here is their facebook page facebook.com/On-the-HOOF-104686455113324/ I actually got some helicopter tape for the crank on my Canyon as my shoes were rubbing against it and making it look scruffy. I thought it would not stick to that surface but it does.... really good stuff but very expensive

@@JohnonaBike thanks, yes i think that happens when a URL is inserted into a comment then youtube doesn't like that... yes, sadly there is some road stretches on that route, mainly going from rookhope to stanhope..:)

I think I will have to head up that way on my road bike again.... Not been up there for a while. I used to ride up there all the time with my friend back in the late 80's early 90's but the roads were so much quieter then. We could ride side-by-side and have water bottle fights as there were no cars around..... Its very busy now but still good routes and stunning scenery

@@JohnonaBike sounds like fun haha... mind, the road from rookhope to stanhope is very quiet - apart from the sheep..! I've still got a fair few routes to try out - some towards hamsterley forest, and up from lanchester way towards the derwent walk, and also there's a trail that runs along past annfield plain towards sunderland...

Alan the pathfinder 😄👍 - you could write a book with all the routes you know - Very impressive 👍

Cracking ride John (still wished I lived down that way, so many off road routes!). Handle bar cam works well IMO. You are right about the Fury bar too, I've just rotated mine a little to raise the ends, will see how it goes, but I'm expecting to buy a riser bar. Do you think adding the adjustable stem could have solved one problem and created another? The stem bars always look like they are pushing the bar away as well as up. I've never used one, so can't be sure. Keep up the good work :-)

Thanks Phil - Yeah we are so lucky around here with the old railway lines 😀 I will use the handlebar cam again at some point I will use that the chest cam and the usual view of me holding it. I just try and mix it up a bit to make it more interesting for you all. I did think about maybe raising the bars has made the new issue but I am sure if I remember right it was like that before I raised them. Its all set up for heavy off road use so maybe they like them that way. Some time in the future I will have to maybe invest in some new handlebars. My old bike (25 years old) had super comfy handlebars and it came with good grips so new ideas are maybe not always better
