Mountain Biking down Bolivia's Death Road as seen on ABC

This is the full footage from a recent TV show filmed with Gravity Assisted Mountain Biking on the World's Most Dangerous Road (also known as the Death Road) and shown on television in New Zealand. The show gives a great idea of the ride, the road, the legend and the drama. Enjoy!

Planning a trip to Bolivia in 2014, this is right at the top of things i'd like to do! Particularly interested in getting some good snaps of some of the roads landmarks, the waterfall, the pinch etc. Breathtaking geological features all around!

Sorry to hear you broke your record of no deaths dudes... youre still the company I plan on doing this ride with when I get there tho. Must have felt gut wrenching to lose a customer after so many safe years. I guess it was just a matter of time and luck... great video guys...

Oh, well that makes a lot more sense. I read an article on it about a month ago where they had autos on there still (and I don't think they mentioned that on the video). I might run it---biking it is another thing.

I am not an adrenakine junky but did this in 2008 and yes it is scary as u have to maintain quite a pace but its one of the best things ive done!!!

@yesroh no cars anymore dude, road is closed, its just a tourist attraction now. the paved section at the start is not the death road.

Its not that dangerous but it is quite a rush hitting 50mph on the hardtop portion. The gravel portion is great if you do a nonstop from top to bottom at top speed.

How many lives do you start with? Seems real dangerous for cars but for a good MTB ride... not so much. At least from the cam view.

The most scary part of the ride is the bus trip back up. We did half of it in the dark and that was 2005.

know what you mean. i did this back in 2005 and while it was good fun (65km downhilll...) and id definately recommend it if you're nearby, id have to say it was reasonably tame if you ride a lot but probably quite scary if you dont ride. what really got me scared wasn't riding down the road but driving back up the "road of death" at night after a few beers in the back of a speeding dodgy old bus with lights which kept turning off - i properly shit myself then! its the buses that crash not bikes!
