My father loves this song, and this specific version of the song. Two months ago he got ill and was sent to the hospital. Later on he was diagnosed with glioblastoma, the worst kind of brain cancer. Doctors said treatment was not worth it because if he survived, he would be in coma for the rest of his life, unable to move, talk and even function properly without the help of medical support. He may depart at any moment. Dad, I love you with all my heart. Hope to see you again when my time comes. Till then, all I got is the memories of the wonderful time we had together. Thank you for everything you taught me, all the sacrifice you made so I could have a better life. I’ll miss you so much dad. When you meet grandpa and grandma, tell them I said hi, and that I miss them too.

This is one of the most wonderful music videos I have ever seen. It was shared to me by Win Laychock. Stand By Me is performed by musician street groups from around the world. No truer words were ever spoken. We all at sometime or another need someone to stand by us. We must also remember to stand by others. It works both ways.

I watch this every year and my wish is always the same. No matter how much darkness or chaos envelops the world, I know deep down, most of us long for peace, love and unity. It may take time for us to reach it on a grand scale, but it's so good to see peace on earth and goodwill to men exist -- if only for a 5:27 song.

About every year or so I remember this video and seek it out again. I always forget how uplifting it is, that even when I feel so down it is capable of putting you back on your feet. Not only that, but it makes me wanna pick up my sax and play. There’s something just so feel good about this that even James Brown is jealous 😄. It really is a truly remarkable song, performed admirably by a bunch of folks all around the world being in sync with one another. What’s not to love?

I'm an Englishman who has never travelled to America and through health I never will now, I should have took the chance while I had it. So unfortunately I never heard Roger Ridley play in real life as I believe he performed in that on spot on Santa Monica. I know very little about him except he wanted to change the world to a better place by people all over sharing their musical talent. A simple wish accompanied by music often at its simplest, surely it's not too much to ask? Stay safe everyone and who knows? If you close your eyes and wish hard enough maybe you'll hear Roger singing with Otis, Percy, Sam, BB and many others.

The world would definitely be a better place if we support each other. The color of our skin doesn't make us different. Look, really look, really LOOK at the individual, see their personality, their smile, the color of their eyes and their beauty. You won't see color.

What a beautiful mash up and mix of talented people and performers from around the world, and all walks of life. It actually made me cry. My Dad had a stroke and my uncle has been given the bad news that he has pancreatic cancer and doesn't have much time left, I can almost here them singing this song as they cry out Stand By Me, I have been doing just that and will continue to do so until God calls them home, it hasn't been easy, I'm worn down both physically and mentally, but I'm trusting God to carry me through this very difficult time.😭😭
