Oh man. I had not idea the bike trails are so cool at Markham. Finally got my bike not long ago (starter bike nothing special) and I’m gonna visit this place soon. Wish I knew people that like riding bikes. Looks like it’s fun in a group.
@BlindstuffMTB6 жыл бұрын
Markham is great! I've learned that the best way to get a riding group is to make it at the trails, its really hard to get your non mtb friends into mtb.

I went to ride Markham first time in 15yrs today and well it was fun but exhausting as hell. Was proud didn’t fall and survived to live another day, probably will be sore as hell tomorrow.
@BlindstuffMTB4 жыл бұрын
Congrats on getting back out there! That soreness is a good kind of sore.

Like that trail, looks a lot smoother than Simi. Complete opposites but super fun looking!

It's totally different, but still great fun. Florida has awesome riding if you're ok with pedaling a lot.

Fast run. Just thinking I've been riding there for more than 25 yrs and it's still fun and fast. Hitting Virginia key for the first time tommorow.

@@BlindstuffMTB That place is AWESOME! Nice flow and jumps everywhere. And the overlooks of the water high on the trails leaves you feeling like your somewhere else. 👍👍👍👍👍

Thanks Michael! Markham is always great, probably my favorite in the area, its too bad its far enought that I can't make it for the midweek ride :(, so its weekends only for me.
@MikeTriz6 жыл бұрын
That's too bad since the weekends tend to be a bit over-crowded. I really enjoy getting to Markham very early during the week to watch the sun rise and ride lap or two before work. Trails all to myself!

Great video! I will be riding Markham for the first time very soon. Was this an intermediate or Advanced Trail? I only have a rigid bike, is this doable with that?
@BlindstuffMTB4 жыл бұрын
We rode all the trails, including the Advanced ones. You can ride it with a rigid bike, but a front fork at least would be a lot better.

I know it sounds odd, but I think I'd miss the hell out of this kind of riding if I ever moved. Markham is great overall, so much variety, the only thing is I think its one of those places that gets to be more fun the faster you go, so pedaling plays a big role in enjoying it.

Thanks so much Verdon! I'm working on it, it turns out that writing a beginner series is A LOT more work than I expected. I filmed some stuff that I ended up scrapping to improve, so it'll be a bit before the quality is where I want it.

What’s with the full face? Don’t see many people wearing those on these types of trails seems it would be hot especially in Florida, what’s the reason why you prefer it?
@BlindstuffMTB6 жыл бұрын
James actually asked me the exact same thing, so that will be in his video, but in general, it makes me feel more confident, that's really about it. Yes, there's a trade off in heat and breathing, and while it might not be same the for everyone, to me it's worth it. I made a video on this a while ago if you want to to check it out: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mJyVnomvi55jhq8
@pedalsandplants57256 жыл бұрын
Hey Stefano! I have always wondered why you didn’t have a Markham Park video on you channel. I first rode Markham way back in 1994 when I would race the “Gone Riding” race series. That place has always been a favorite of mine, it was super surprising how difficult some sections proved to be and how well the terrain is utilized. Oh yea, James is FAST, omg! I may do a trip to south Florida during my Christmas break, patellar tendon recovery permitting, would you be around that time of year or would you be leaving town for the holidays? Maybe we could meet up and ride, hope so, take care buddy!
@BlindstuffMTB6 жыл бұрын
Since Markham is so easily accessible for me, I kept thinking, I'll do a video soon, and just kept putting it off. I'm going to go back for an Area 51 special soon though. Yeah, send me an email when you're coming and we can set it up if I'm here!
@matthewhall5546 жыл бұрын
Great collaboration video with JC Trails, the GOPRO effect makes Markham look too much like an XC trail system. Are you doing any other parks with JC Trails while he's in Florida?
@BlindstuffMTB6 жыл бұрын
Thanks Matthew! It's crazy isn't it, the GoPro effect really flattens it out, it doesn't look like much effort, but oh well, at least most people now a day know that everything looks easier on video. James is already headed back, we only got a chance to do one ride, but I will do other local parks. Amelia (CW & CCW), Oleta, JD, Dyer, etc are still pending.
